Good morning Commanders!

We await the results of last cycle with bated breath. The last known position was good, although we again noticed some preparation of the unprofitable system of Yaque by persons unknown. It is unclear at this time if this is an organised fifth column attempt or just grinders who don't know (or care) about the damage they could be doing.

If you want to get an early start when the servers come back up then a few fortification targets are encouraged, for example Blod, Chankates, Rutujil or HIP 105391.

The finalised objectives will be posted on Reddit and copied here when ready once the numbers wizards have done their magic dance.

Never ever fortify: Clido Pi, Chnumar, Daibo, Grebegus, HIP 10786, Karsuki Ti, Kuki An, Lambda-1 Tucanae, Okua'gsa, Panganau. You will make baby Aisling cry.

So, Powerplay is broken again!

It shows both Wulwula and Yaque in expansion for this week. But Wulwula used up 201 out of 208 available preparation CC last week. Yaque (with over 100 cost) showed RED in last week's preparation list and should not be in expansion.

Powerplay Bug.

No other powers seem to be affected in this way. All have only one or none expansions.

We may have been hit by some sort of refund since the expansion last week did not complete.

Anyway, the malicious preparation of Yaque has now crystallised from a potential issue into an actual one DO NOT expand Yaque this week. And spread that message as far as you can.

No, I don't think so. Last week's expansion was defeated by Opposition in the normal way. That doesn't cause a sudden increase in available preparation CC at turn-end (at least I've never heard of anything like that before).

Yaque expansion can't be prevented. The triggers are far too unfavorable.

Yes, there is a 5:1 ratio on the triggers. It's going to be Hell to oppose, that's why we kept asking people not to prepare it.

It would be easier if it just wasn't expanded, but somehow I don't expect that to happen.

There is a bug report submitted here. Comments about how Yaque appeared in the game UI may be helpful for FD to see that this is indeed a bug. Feel free to make your voice heard.

Hail, CMDRS!

After much deliberation, emissaries of Princess Aisling's administration have decided not to pursue further relations at this point in time with our expansion attempt from the previous cycle. We thank all those that contributed to the effort, and hope that they remain open to future relations should our paths cross again.

There are a few key issues which are still being finalised and addressed, but the objectives cannot wait, so the actions which we are certain that we wish to pursue for this cycle will be posted immediately, and the rest will be filled in once they have been locked down. We appreciate your patience in this matter, and promise that we are doing our utmost to keep the future bright for the Princess's power.

We take this time to repeat our message from last week, in the hopes that it will resonate throughout the Empire: Tradition is no excuse for subjugation! One day, sometime far-off from now, the citizens of the Empire will look back with shame at their barbarism and complicity in the commodification of people. Those who stand up for what is truly just will be remembered by history for their deeds, and for the legacy of societal improvement that they leave behind.



As always, the following is a list of suggested actions that, in collaboration with the Aisling Duval community, we feel will best serve the needs of our Princess' administration.

Systems are fortified by collecting Program (fortification) materials from Cubeo only and delivering them to the target system.

Do not fortify any systems that are already at 100% fortification. Remember the One-Ton Test: Drop 1t of fortification materials at the station first, and check to see if the trigger has already been met. If it has, please find another system to fortify instead!

2nd place Yaque prep should not have succeeded if Wulwula failed.

The usual rule is that if a Preparation fails (eg. out-bid by another power, or there's more preparation on a system within 15 Ly), then the CC from the failed Prep are NOT freed to allow a RED Prep system to proceed to Expansion.

So even if 1st place Wulwula fails Preparation due to this previously unannounced prohibition (presumably its appearance in the Expansion list is another bug), Yaque should NOT pick up the available CC from Wulwula,

Perhaps FD broke their rule in this case, thinking it a favour to Aisling to choose their "second choice" as compensation for their removal of Wulwula? It's not wanted! Loyalists spent 85k prep points (this week) to keep Yaque out (even more than 66k last week). But that's the long-standing problem with the Preparation voting system.

Not a bug, it's actually 'working as intended'. Your preps were all screwed up because appears that a block of space has been blocked off for the new power, which changed all the surrounding systems CC numbers....

Galactic News: United Research Council Announces New Programme

The United Research Council, one of the galaxy's largest independent scientific organisations, has announced an ambitious new research programme.

The programme, which is expected to last approximately six weeks, will initially encompass all systems within a 30 light-year radius of the Coritab, Darian, Freng and Lunduwalaya systems. Other systems may be added to the list as the programme progresses.

The Alliance, the Empire and the Federation have all agreed to grant the Council exclusive access to these systems for the duration of its research programme. Civilian and military traffic will be free to traverse the region, but pilots pledged to one of the galaxy's major powers will be unable to lay claim to these systems while the project is active.

Professor Ray Miller, director of the organisation, elaborated on the nature of the exercise:

"The programme is in most respects unremarkable – we will be monitoring radiation levels, recording the positions of celestial bodies, and so on – but it is also highly sensitive. The passage of a single ship will not disturb our experiments, but large-scale activity could prove highly disruptive."

"We thank the galactic community in advance for its understanding."

The current theory seems to be that excluding so many potential exploited systems from around Wulwula lowered its cost, leaving enough CC for Yaque to succeed.

Sadly this is not the first time we have seen that manual interventions in the PP state do not work out well. The people who decide on these interventions do not seem able to predict all the consequences.

I am new relatively new to ED and very new to PP.

I have pledged to Aisling Duval and have dropped my first 30 sealed contracts from Wulwula off at a control system.
From what I have read this is part of what we are trying to achieve this cycle.

Any pointers for a new Imperial Cmdr?

Currently fly a Cobra MkIII fitted for mining but looking to move to an AspX asap :)

That's exactly what we need you to be doing, thank you.

FD have promised to fix the damaged expansions, so we want Wulwula expanded as normal. Yaque should be cancelled as it should not have gone to expansion in the first place.

If you any help or want to talk to other Aisling commanders, consider joining the Slack.

I have 30 Aisling Media material on board, where are these supposed to go? sorry the text description on ED is utterly useless. I have just jumped back to Wulwula to pick up another 30 sealed contracts but they will not accept the media materials that I thought were supposed to go back there...... I know noob lol
