Powerplay Faction: Aisling Duval Weekly Objectives for Cycle 90

Good morning Commanders!

There was action near Wulwula last week as Archon Delaine tried to expand into Asinda. Fortunately loyal commanders rallied round to drive out the invading pirates and the Imperial Peace was restored.

Further afield explorers continue to uncover more of the ruins of the Guardians' civilization, with a dozen different sites now uncovered. Ram Tah's decoding algorithms have allowed the recovery of various interesting pieces of data and we are slowly getting a better idea of the ancient culture. The same cannot be said of the mysterious ships near Maia, about which still little is known.

The greatest excitement this week, though, came from the livestream on Tuesday showing off features from the next release - with commander avatars, improved classified camera and a new ship all showcased to build hype levels. Don't forget there's another stream tonight to show off the multicrew features!

Please vote again for Consolidation this week. There are still huge numbers of preparations going into Yaque; it's not clear why, either there is a cunning plan at work or we have an infestation of space zombies grinding away.

If you want to get an early start then as usual a few fortification targets are encouraged, for example Wulwula, Undines, Blod, Chankates, Rutujil or HIP 105391.

The finalised objectives will be posted on Reddit and copied here when ready once the numbers wizards have done their magic dance.

Never ever fortify: Clido Pi, Chnumar, Daibo, Grebegus, HIP 10786, Karsuki Ti, Kuki An, Lambda-1 Tucanae, Okua'gsa, Panganau. You will make baby Aisling cry.

Consolidation continues to reward us by denying deficit systems from moving into Expansion, and we remain in the Top 3 for another week as a result. Thank you to everybody that contributed to our fortification priorities - your efforts are paying dividends not only in protecting our systems for the current cycle, but also in making it harder for our systems to be undermined in the following cycle thanks to Consolidation. Until we can create more opportunities for positive expansions, we will be aiming to continuing Consolidating our space.

Do not fortify any systems that are already at 100% fortification. Remember the One-Ton Test: Drop 1t of fortification materials at the station first, and check to see if the trigger has already been met. If it has, please find another system to fortify instead!

I´m brand new to all this but it looks like KUKI AN is fortified. "Trigger reached" 8056 of 5125.
Whats the cause and effect of this?
 
The cause is people who don't join in the community and go off and do their own thing to earn merits regardless of whether it helps the power or not - grinders.

The effect is that Kuki An will only lose us 34.1 CC this week, rather than 55.1 (unless it's undermined).

Honestly it would be more of an issue if we were actively in a position to try getting rid of the useless waste of space, in which case the grinders would almost certainly just have stopped that happening. This week, it's not really a problem except that at least 3.000 of those merits could have been delivered somewhere useful instead.

Sad to say, imo it feels like the end of the "race" for powerplay already. With most of the powers already choosing consolidation each week, it seems there is no more room to expand and the imperial senator crone has already placed 2nd over Aisling. Maybe that's the way FDev wants it limiting the sphere of civilization until some new lore rationalizes an increase change of the distance from headquarters factor. i.e. better hyperdrive etc.
 
Oh, it's been that way for months. Until some sort of procedural colonisation is added to the edges of the human bubble, all of the profitable systems (and an irritating number of the unprofitable ones) are already under control of one of the powers.

Until then, the only possible outcomes are stagnation or territorial war. The latter happens sometimes, but generally the commanders pledged to powers do not at the moment receive sufficient incentive to make all-out war worthwhile. Maybe that will be added at some point too.
