General Weekly tick for earning Arx

The problem with the weekly limit are two fold,
  1. The limit is too low, but equally...
  2. The weekly tick is actually DISCOURAGING me from playing if I hit that weekly limit early.
I usually find myself holding off from playing if the limit has been reached from just handing in a few days exploration data or whatever, and will wait until the next tick to hand in the rest and not do any more playing until then. At least if it was a DAILY limit at say 60 (or preferably 100) arx a day I'd be more likely to be on for a little while each day.

its a bit like having a coffee shop's loyalty card, that gives you a free coffee after 3 purchases... great... but, you can only get the deal once a week... OK, so then I am only buying coffee from you 3 times a week. It's a bad business model that does not encourage regular customers.

having OCD is a terrible thing - I hate to see inefficient waste - I am not playing FOR IT, but I am not playing and wasting it. I still say my coffee shop analogy is valid - In effect I am being encouraged to use another coffee shop half the week, an "easy" fix would be make it a daily limit - even if it worked out to be the same total in the week.

I never, or almost never get my weekly limit, but then I am out for weeks and months at a time, the only time I ever reached my weekly limit was when I handed in my last billion or so worth of exploration data, it would indeed seem strange to stop playing just because I am not earning a few measly imaginary credits worth of game tokens.

an "easy" fix would be make it a daily limit - even if it worked out to be the same total in the week.

And when you've reached your daily limit, would you then stop playing until it resets the following day, because if you don't then you have just torpedoed your entire argument, because exactly the same thing applies for a daily limit as it does for a weekly limit, they are, after all, only two different lengths of time in which to earn a set amount of ARX.

It is free stuff - moaning about not getting enough free stuff is both sad and greedy.

BTW - I hate the whole ARX nonsense but they are not going to get rid of it now so I have to just accept it. They give me free ARX - no complaints there.

Geez, once again I'm not so much complaining about not enough free stuff as how it is doled out - I'd rather there was a daily cutoff rather than a weekly one is all - actually the weekly server tick in general is a pain in the ass immersion breaker. I hope the new era ushers in a more seemless rolling programme rather than the once a week server recalculation cycles.
Remember this is a SUGGESTIONS board people!

Probably yes I would, to maximise return on investment, if I saw that my daily Arx cap was reached I'd probably think, "ok I'll do some more looking for interesting systems tomorrow, and play something else now" -- in the same way that if I was only allowed to earn one free coffee a day from one particular coffee shop with every one purchased I would probably use another coffee shop's loyalty scheme (i.e. another game) if I wanted to regularly drink more coffee than that (and I so do - lol).

Arx is meant to reward regular play, and that's great. And as such I'd bet Fdev would prefer daily cycles if they could.

What about players that can only have one or two long sessions a week as opposed to playing for 1-2 hours a day?

Would you also be happiers if they increased the weekly cap by 5,000........but also increased the cost of all cosmetics by the same?

How often would you log out just to see how many ARX you'd earned thus far in that session?

Relogging for ARX?.....EXPLOIT!

Obviously we need remove the weekly limit to change it to a certain number ARX per hour, or even better per minute, that will get you playing all the time, because every minute of play you miss you will be missing out on ARX! So they will have you playing 24 hours a day!

Oh yes, the above is exactly the reason I don't personally like the change to ARX, but most games use this mechanic now so having been stung before I can easily ignore it, unlike some people.

Arx are just a bonus. Don't get hung up on them. I usually make my quota by Saturday just playing normal, except when I go off exploring or hunting data/mats I want or need for some unlock or bit of engineering. I don't stop playing because I hit my cap. If I did, I would question why I was still playing. Am I doing it for fun, or for make believe money I can use to dress up my ship that almost no one sees because they are using night vision all of the time, or my avatar that no ever really sees either? If the answer is the latter, I prolly need to look for another game, or get back into the garage and finally fix that old CBX so I can go riding.
