Weight of cargo

Does a container of gold weigh as much as a container of tea? All info I can find points to this but as the containers are all equal in volume it seems like something is amiss here and it also sounds like something mr Braben would have thought of. Does anyone have any insight into this? :S

The tea and the computer parts make sense but...

The tea and the computer parts make sense but the containers look to be at least 2 cubic meters so why only have 0,05 cubic meters of gold in it?
(2 cubic meters of gold would weigh 38,6 tonnes)

I for one would love to have that supertanker feel (and trouble) if loaded with extra heavy stuff, it would take an awesome pilot to transport heavy metal..I think that is a nice game mechanic.
