I just was curious about this new album Weightless and bought it and I have to admit I'm not happy with it. I mean first of all it's just half the time of the normal album, furthermore just the same songs. However I want to know your opinion, how do you like the new album?

Well they certainly are getting every cent out of the soundtrack! The vinyl record was a neat touch for those who enjoy that kind of thing, but an OST for ambient in-game music? The main OST songs are all on youtube, I'm surprised these ones are not yet, but I think we've all heard them a million times by now [tongue]

In all honesty, I hope Frontier adds more songs to the game with future updates or add-ons. RCT3 added a few songs with each expansion, and it would be nice to get something fresh on my ears since so many videos contain the soundtrack. I do really enjoy the songs, but even the best songs of all time get tiresome when played on loop for hundreds of hours [big grin]

Well, the description does say:
These 16 tracks appear in game as ambient versions of the official soundtrack songs, written by Jim Guthrie and JJ Ipsen. They are interspersed and interwoven in to the original tracks to help keep the songs evolving and moving as one builds their park. With layered textures and dreamy ambient soundscapes, the remixers have given Jim and JJ’s songs a new twist to further help inspire creativity and allow your dreams to take flight.

Yeah while playing the game I noticed a few ambient notes that were not on the official soundtrack, but they surely sounded recognizable and they usually blend into an "official" version from the released soundtrack. I assumed they were just extended in- or outros that were cut from the ost master because they are not well suited for listening outside of the context of the game.

It's on Spotify so it might come up in my shuffled playlist on occasion, but I wouldn't pay for this honestly. Also, I really, really hope this is not what Jim Croft meant when he posted that "We'll be releasing the diegetic score sometime early in the New Year". Still waiting for high quality, undistorted version of the area and ride music :)

Something which is a bit longer, I guess. I'm not sure if those 16-20 minutes of music for 5€ is worth it. I do understand the meaning of mix, but most of the song which were mixed orginal songs were... different?
Don't get me wrong I kinda like those chilled mixes, nevertheless it's not worth 5€, while the orginal soundtracks are 10€ and offer more, while the orginal soundtracks offer around 55 minutes of music the mixed version for 5€ offer just around 16-20 minutes.

Anyways I won't and I can't refund it anyways. It's a neat idea, but too expensive. Maybe they cold offer it for free or for 2€ or so.
