I was playing, and as sometimes happens, the game crashed while doing a frame shift jump.
so normally I go to windows and kill the process, sometimes I have to kill the launcher too.
however, I have been unable to restart the game since.
I have tried about 6 times so far with no luck.
there has been no system update in between this happening.
I have killed the process for the game, the launcher, rebooted the computer, tried in open play, and solo, and whatever I do, it just goes through an infinite loop and eventually gives an error (or doesn't) about directx being unable to lock a buffer or unable to load a file.
I have tried everything to get the game restarted, and nothing is working.
the only interesting thing that happened is that I was killed about 15 minutes before this happened, got a new ship, started playing again. did a frame shift jump and now the game is not starting again.
