Weird issue with otters & plants

So I have a river for my giant otters. This is the second habitat I’ve built for them and there were no issues with the first one. However, in my new habitat their plant welfare is at 0% and I can’t work out why. The plant coverage is 80% and green, every plant in their habitat is South American and from the correct biome. I’ve tried adding and removing the plants species-by-species, reloading the zoo & boxing and unboxing the otters but all to no avail.

Has anyone else experienced this? I am out of ideas!

I think the issue (bug) lies here that all plants are in the water, and therefore are not fully accounted for.
I'd suggest posting a report in the Issue Tracker.

Yeh i’ve been thinking the same over the weekend. There’s barely any actual land in the enclosure and whilst there’s lots of rock etc that the otters see as land & are 100% happy with I think it’s confusing the game.

I've noticed that the plant coverage requirement for the river otters seems to be very high. I'll have all the correct vegetation, and the plant count will be in the "green" zone, but the coverage will still be in the "red" zone. Placing more trees on the land area of the enclosure seems to fix it, so it's possible they need canopy cover, since they are an Amazonian species? It doesn't seem like you have a lot of land area in this otter habitat, and you don't have any trees, which may be part of the issue.
