Weird light distortion on Vive Pro Headset

So I have come back to Elite after a few months away .. suddenly my Vive Pro has all this weird distortion on everything. Like the gfx are warping. Here's a video that demonstrates it. Not my video -

Literally none of my hardware has changed. 1070, 3.6ghz 6 core, 32gb ram. Never had the slightest issue running the game previously. So it is either a Steam VR update or ED update that is causing it. I notice other people has reported it as a bug but I can't comment or add to those threads. Was hoping someone has some feedback about what is causing it.

How is your 1070 handling the increased resolution of the Vive Pro? I've been running my Vive with a 1070 and thinking about upgrading, but don't want to spring for both a new graphics card & a new headset at the same time. Hoping the 1070 will be "good enough" to run the Pro for a few months.

Maybe on low settings with motion smoothing enabled. I'm guessing you'd see significant reprojection as I doubt you'd reach 90FPS at all times on that GPU and a Vive Pro (hard to say with no mention of CPU / RAM). I had to lower some settings to run mine well on a GTX 1080Ti / 8700k with 32GB of RAM.

If you do buy a Vive Pro - make sure you do the GearVR lens swap mod, honestly the device looks like biowaste without it so I'd factor in your willingness to mod such an expensive device on day one of your purchase before you buy.
