Weird problem with tons of baby animals in storage

When I logged into one of my franchise zoos tonight, I had a bunch of baby animals in my trade center, and I know I didn't put them there. My storage was full. After distributing them back to the appropriate places in my zoo and freeing up space, I logged into a different franchise zoo with the intent of transferring a female timber wolf to replace the breeding female that just died to the other franchise zoo, and suddenly I have 80 animals in my storage. A bunch of baby animals were placed in my trade center when I logged over to this zoo.

When I started playing tonight, I did get that weird Steam message that the files on my computer and in the cloud weren't synced, and I had to choose one. I chose the cloud sync, since the most recent file on my computer was saved hours before I stopped playing last night (and I did save several times since then--I have no idea when saves go to steam folders on my computer versus the cloud on Steam). Did this mess me up? I've never had this happen before, and since trade center storage is capped at 49 animals, I have to figure out what to do with all these extra critters that showed up in my trade center.

Happens all the time to me. Animals are always saved through online. If your zoo doesn’t save correctly though it puts any babies born after you saved in the trade center

I think this is the first time it's happened to me, even with the saving glitches and crashes happening more often. At least it's never been on such a scale I noticed it before. It was also annoying, because if there is a way to move more than one animal at a time from the trade center to a habitat, I haven't discovered it yet. Moving 15 baby caimen, ten baby crocodiles, eight pangolin, six lemurs, five monkeys, plus assorted wolf and lion cubs from the trade back to their habitats took a goodly amount of time.

Meanwhile, the zoo is hitting one of those periodic crises where the keepers decide to stop cleaning habitats and the mechanics decide to stop fixing things, all at the same time! And I just logged into that zoo to fetch one female wolf for my lonely, bereaved male in a different zoo.

Hayo! I will use this thread to explain in case anyone else has the same issue too. When loading a save, if the state of the save and the server do not match, animals the server thinks your game should have but doesn't are put into the Trade Centre for you. In this case, it looks like the Steam Cloud grabbed an earlier version of the save and replaced it on your behalf. We don't have control over how the Steam Cloud operates, so the best advice we can give is just to be careful when saving and ending Planet Zoo, and make sure to check that Steam finished updating the Steam Cloud before you close down Steam. Hope this makes sense!

I figured it was something like this. I think it happened because the game crashed on me whilst I was saving it. The next time I logged on, it told me my cloud and computer versions of the files didn't match and I had to choose one to sync. They didn't list any saves to my hard drive that were more recent than at least a couple of hours before the crash, so I had it sync with the cloud instead. A lot of babies were born during those two hours of play time (this particular zoo had a reptile house with water monitors, gharials, caimans, tortoises, and komodo dragons--nuff said), but what is interesting is I got a bunch more babies in my trade center when I logged into a different zoo I hadn't even been playing that day.

Anyway, thanks for the clarification.
