Weird problem with X-55 HOTAS. Does random things until I unplug / re-plugin

Has anyone seen this problem? When I first start ED with my X-55 HOTAS plugged in, the ship does random actions such as enabling Silent Running and opening the cargo bay.
To fix the problem, I have to unplug both the joystick and throttle then plug them back in again. This only fixes the issue for the current session of ED though.

Does anyone please have some ideas? I know the hardware is fine as I'm using it often in another space sim.

Sounds like the ghost key issue. Get a powered usb hub or powered internal usb card. I bought this card Rosewill 2-Port USB 3.0 PCI Express Card Model RC-505 and have no issues with random button activations now.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It's weird though, I never had this issue in Beta or Gamma. I'll try a powered USB hub then, from what I remember I think they're quite cheap.

Had a similar issue... the fix was to make sure the throttle was plugged into a USB 3 socket and the stick in a USB 2 (I only have 1 USB 3 on my laptop). This seemed to sort it and I haven't had any problems since :)

I had the same issue : 2 possibles causes on my sides
- Bad install (no Rhino tray icon) --> many tries and finally install succesfully
- Bad usb port --> move the rhino to USB3.0

Ghost problem solved for me.

Thanks but I'm sure the Rhino app is OK (I use a custom profile for Star Citizen which works fine) and both my joystick and throttle are already using USB3 ports. Weird aye!

Hopefully the powered hub will do the trick but I'm not convince, not sure why it worked fine in ED Beta and Gamma.
