Weird Problem

Earlier this week I was playing Elite and had to go take out the dogs. I didn't shut anything down, just set my Oculus on the desk and left it. When I came back Elite had locked up (this has happened before when my headset goes to sleep). When I got the game restarted I had lost all my key bindings. No big deal, I'll fix it another night. Yesterday I had some time, so I tried redoing my bindings. Everything was going ok until I got to Yaw. I have a joystick that has a rudder (the stick twists left and right). Elite Dangerous would recognize right rudder for right yaw, but will NOT recognize left rudder for left yaw (or any other key binding). I thought maybe my joystick was broken, but when I tested it through Control Panel my computer recognized both right and left rudder. Tried opening Elite again and the same thing happened. Recognizes right rudder, but not left rudder. Any thoughts? The joystick is a Saitek AV8R-02. I tried unplugging it and plugging in again and that didn't fix it. I tried unplugging and plugging into a different port and that didn't work either.

could be confused as to what bind file the game is using I suggest you read and follow this ist that will rule a lotta possible faults out
else it could be your joystick software suite or driver (take care not to bind to digital bindings(on off) instead of axsis ( constant continuous inputs)
(ahh walkies time do you notice dogs start doing there quick time calisthenics stretches just before going out, can learn a lot from our furry companions ;) )

I found the solution and I feel like an idiot. I didn't realize my joystick had a switch on the side for two different "modes". Apparently I bumped that switch at some point and that was the cause of all my issues. Moved the switch back and I have yaw again.
