Weirdly, I Kind of Want the Koala as a Walkthrough Exhibit Animal

Might be too hot of a take. As much as I enjoy designing a koala habitat, I can't help but feel like they'd be perfect for the WE exhibit (well, aside from the walkthrough part; that isn't super ideal for most animals, but anyway). I usually build my koala habitats as small or smaller than the exhibit anyway, and in such a setting they wouldn't need to move nearly as much as they do in habitats. Of course, we would also miss out on the adorable babies, but still.

I think the Sloth would definitely work better as a Exhibit Animal because normally they only climb down to poop. Otherwise it would be cool to see their Swimming Animations in the Game. I wish at least the Exhibit Mammals would get Baby Models too.
I'm fine with the Koala as a Habitat Animal but Frontier should definitely increase how much they climb

I'm happy with the koalas as habitat animals (especially now that they increased the time they spend climbing, even if they're still far too active), but I wish they gave them the ability to sleep up in the trees. That's the biggest thing they're missing IMO, I can put up with them strolling around on the ground but the fact they're never in their most common pose (bunched up against a tree branch) is less easy to ignore.

Oh, and a remaster to make them look less like plush toys of course.

They did? Can't remember that. I hope it's way better now than before. If not I might just try to build a big Tree for them which has Bedding, Water, Food (if possible) and maybe also Enrichment on it

Absolutely necessary. I want this in the Game. Maybe they could do this for multiple Animals in one Update (Koala, Peafowl, Primates, Leopards, Clouded Leopards.....)

Also agree with that. Not a big Fan of stylizing the Animals. In my Opinion they should look as realistic as possible

Also aren't their Breeding Calls normally lowder than they are in the Game? (Do they even do them in the Game while they aren't fighting?)

Yeah, they introduced several fixes in patch 1.10.1 and issues with koalas not climbing were among them:
  • Increased frequency of swimming and climbing for a number of animals when exploring their habitat
  • Fixed an issue where the Koala would not climb trees in its habitat
I haven't had much time to see the difference myself as I've been in a PZ slump as of late (only now broken by the release of the Twilight Pack), but from what I've heard it's a significant improvement.

Their calls are louder and much longer in real life than they are in-game yeah, and not limited to interactions (I think they do it with some other social animations as well, such as mating, but I can't properly recall). Realistically you should hear them from a fair way away, as you do in the bush (ah, the sound of spring...).

Really nice. When the Australia Pack was released they climbed a lot at first and then something happened that caused them to always be on the Ground

Would be nice if they would change it then. I really like to hear them

If it fits, it sits but if its the same size or larger then the prariedogs and meerkat they should be free to be used in whatever way we want.
Afterall no ones stopping you from putting koalas in habitats the size of exhibits, but the exhibits stop every other idear, so im glad that the koalas are free

Even though they also often fight on the Ground I'd love to see a Koala Fight Animation on a Tree/Climbing Structure

I think Sloths would still be perfect for the Exhibit because as I mentioned normally they only climb down to poop. In the Exhibit we could have them hanging from Trees (maybe a big one with many Branches or multiple smaller ones) or dead Trees which would have a Water Bowl and a Food Bowl attached to them. Maybe also a Way to connect two Trees with a Rope or a Net

We could still have them free in a Tropical House or other kind of Enclosure if we make the Exhibit invisible. As I've already mentioned though they should at least give the Habitat Mammals Baby Models too
Edit: they can throw Stuff by the Way

The most realistic way to have koalas would not be exhibits or habitats - just convert the tree feeder to a prop with an (occasionally) animated koala in it…. Ok. I’m exaggerating, but not much…. The tree feeder should function as a feeder, sleeping place and water source though.

Sorry too hot for me
:)

I feel like having certain animals, such as koalas, as both habitat and exhibit animals is something that would be good for pz.
Yeah I've always supported a hybrid model for certain species. Prior to the walkthrough exhibit it was always the Cuvier's dwarf caiman and the iguanas for me. It would be good if we could adopt them from either the habitat market or the exhibit market depending on how we build. Building a realistically small habitat for the dwarf caiman is a pain in the butt sometimes because of the water.

I strongly agree. On average, the sloths I've seen in zoos have been far more active than the koalas, and the thought of sloths being placed in walkthrough exhibits has gotten minimal psuhback from what I've seen. I'd be much happier with koalas that just sleep all day.

🤔 If they would add Sloths as Habitat Animals they would definitely need to make them spend all their Time in Trees and Climbing Structures. Frontier could add Food and Water Bowls that can be mounted on Trees and Logs like the ones you can get for Parrots.
If that's possible maybe they can limit the Walkthrough Exhibits to flying and gliding Animals.
Regarding the sleepy Koalas, I'd really like a Update that gives the Animals more realistic Sleeping Behavior
