Powerplay Faction: Denton Patreus Welcome Dentonites and Patreuts!

Welcome to the Patreus Forum!

Just wanted to clear the tumbleweeds with a quick introductory post where Patreus-aligned commanders and player groups can introduce themselves and break the ice.

Looks like I get to start...

I'm CMDR Corrigendum (Hi CMDR Corrigendum). You might recognize my commander name from numerous GalNet and local news articles. Writing for GalNet is a passion of mine. My favorite things to do in "Elite: Dangerous" include trading and exploration. Yes, I'm one of those weirdos who pledge to combat-oriented powers but have no personal interest in copious amounts of combat. I don't get a great deal of time to play each day, but you'll likely see me in-game for an hour or so during the North American evenings.

I'm the newest moderator on the /r/ElitePatreus subreddit and contribute to the behind-the-scenes strategy that the de facto leaders engage in. Previous to my pledge to Denton Patreus I was a loyal supporter of Arissa Lavigny-Duval until she was declared Emperor. I was a leading member of Lavigny's Legion for many weeks until a fabulous opportunity came my way. Those of you who are familiar with Drew Wagar's epic Elite-themed novel, "Elite: Reclamation," will likely know the characters Kahina Tijani Loren, Cuthrick Delaney, and Admiral Brice. Earlier this year, a player group spoke with Drew and he graciously permitted them to adopt Lady Loren as their NPC leader. After I collected my jaw from the floor, I quickly made contact with Mr. Wagar and requested his permission to utilize Ambassador Delaney and Admiral Brice to be the NPC leaders of a new player group called Loren's Legion, and eventually wrote a piece of fan-fiction to bridge the gap between the events of "Elite: Reclamation" and the ongoing events in "Elite: Dangerous." If anyone is interested in joining Loren's Legion you can fill out an application here. I do recommend reading some of our news prior to filling out an application so you know more about what you'd be getting into. We're currently a very small group, but we're always looking for mature, fun-loving commanders. Have a look! If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a private message.

Enough about me! Please take a moment to introduce yourself in this thread. If you're a leader of a player group, tell us about your group as well.

Hi CMDR Corrigendum <waves intensely>

I'm CMDR B_R_U_T_U_S, Patreus pledged 22weeks 4 days...not much PP at the moment, trading up to make sure I can get a decent outfitted Cutter. Double thumbs at your community involvement and to the other Moderators/ Community leaders CMDR STARCLOAK, CARL D ROMAN etc.

I also only have around 3hrs of play time a day if that much...but this is a long term thing for me. I'm a freelancer mainly and reside in South-Africa...we have 3rd world problems, wish we had 1st world problems but a great country still.

Life long and prosper _\\// and see you all out there!

Hi Corrigendum,

I won't introduce myself since I am not pledged to Patreus. I am of course not here to troll or throw propaganda.

What do you mean by "NPC Leaders"? Anything gameplay related? Is it somehow a new / future mechanic I am not aware of? Or just some names that may be used in some Galnet articles?

No new mechanic. Just an adoption of fictional characters in the Elite universe. Kind of like how Emperor's Grace is 'led' by Admiral Brennus (http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Emperor's_Grace). So yes, more RP related than an actual gameplay feature, though I know EG is interested in making Brennus a PowerPlay Power. I personally have no interest in that. Just adding flavor and fun.

Hey Cory, I'm EtherImp. Former Aisling Pledge, moved to ALD 3 weeks ago. I play with Lavingys Legion, the 13th Legion, and Aislings Angels. I'm interested in speaking to the heads of the Denton player-groups, opening the lines of communication, and working on a co-op which will benefit us all. Are you the man to talk to, and if not, who would be? :)

Greetings, Commanders.

Most of you know me. For those that don't, I am moderator on the https://www.reddit.com/r/ElitePatreus/ community, have been there since the early days of PP. I'm also GalNet writer, moderator on ElitePress, the Imperial High Command, and various other groups. On the reddit community we coordinate cycle activities, help out newcomers, respond to threats, and generally make sure we're all pulling in the same direction for Patreus. I am going to start a new Cycle Objectives thread here next Thursday, cross-posted from the reddit, and will do so every week so that those who are here on the forum and not on the reddit community can keep informed of current events. There's a CG currently in the works, which I can't talk too much about at this stage, and hopefully an article series coming soon.

I'd recommend touching bases with Raf Von Thorn from EG. He's well connected.

Greetings, all.

I'm CMDR Ha11ywood. I came over from ALD recently, and I normally organize PP strategy for Nova (XB1), and am usually involved in copious amounts of undermining Hudson's systems every cycle. I am interested in furthering the Empire's interests as a whole, and educating more console players (grinders) on how to best help their Powers. I don't post much on the FD forums, as I usually let my hardpoints do the talking, but I monitor all the PP reddits, and look forward to working with each of you.

I can't speak for everyone here (I'm ALD), but I believe the Empire as a whole could really benefit from cooperating with our Imperial XBone Brethren! We should make attempts in the near future to have some discussions and start ironing out our plans for the future, to make sure we're all pushing in the same direction.

My thoughts exactly. We need to focus our Imperial firepower, and become a more coordinated force. I can assure you the enemy is using every tool at their disposal as well. The Empire is divided into more separate groups, making it imperitive that we coordinate our efforts better than the Federation. It will not be easy, but much must be risked in war.

Long live the Senator...

This is exactly what the IHC does - coordinate and exchange information between the four Imperial powers.

Greetings Commanders!
I'm Commander Baldbeard, I've been pledged to Patreus since day one, but really started powerplaying a few cycles ago, after finding out the subreddit. I was getting bored with the game, because even though I'm very far from being triple elite with billions of credits, I felt like I wasn't playing with actual people most of the time. PP gave me a reason to keep playing, missions to take, players to fight and wars to win. I like it a lot.

Fly safe and keep basking! o7

PP can really wear people out if they are not careful, but I agree. Were it not for PP I would have had a serious case of buyers remorse not long after buying Elite.

Hello Cmdrs,
I and a few others do not agree with the strategy of our selfpointed leaders that has led us into our current situation, . Everyone who wants to change this should not fortify Smei Tsu. It's a system that costs us a lot of time, which is missing elsewhere. Our self-appointed leaders hold only Smei Tsu, because it is in their personal interest. One of them is the leader of a group (Lorens Legion), which has its home system in Prism. The fortification of Smei Tsu has last cycle lasted 5 days. This was the time that we were lacking to combat Delain and which will be lacking in the future to fortify other systems. I am not a english nativ speaker and i am sure our selfpointed english native leaders will :):):):)storm this post. Just build your own opinion by looking the facts.
Thx
Cmdr Wiwaldi

Edited, because Baldbeard is correct, below:

Commanders, while this may be a pressing issue, this thread is not the place to discuss it. As we used to say in 2001, you are OT.
Start another thread to discuss about Smei Tsu and let this one be a welcome post for everyone :)

Wiwaldi, please don't bring this stuff to this forum too.
