Greeting Commanders,

Well I had the cobra, I had the guns, Looking to get the remainder credits for the armour.
Almost ready to head out into the black far reaches of space....
But then I picked up a ton of uranium....said it was stolen but hey I can sell on later...
Little did I know but when going to dock I had a scan on me and then 3-5 seconds later...BOOM you dead pal!!!
Lost the lot as all my credits were in cargo..
Now back to a sidewinder and 1k.
Oh well thems the breaks...
Anyone know if there is a time limt on selling on stolen cargo?
And is anyone else having issues with "unable to connect to server"? been going on for about 2 days now..so I am playing solo...which I think is a bit of a cheat as you could get everything you want in solo then jump back into online.

This has happened to almost all of us. And I mainly want to say that is is nice to hear someone NOT complaining about it. Good attitude.

I'll also add the "don't fly what you can't afford" warning. Not telling you how to play or anything, but it is good advice if you haven't picked it up elsewhere. Always keep that 5% of total cost (including guns/hull upgrades/etc.) set aside so you can rebuy. And if you do rebuy, stick to very safe routes until you can build up that reserve again.

Yeah I think I've started from scratch at least five times now. I will NOT make the mistake again of not carrying the insurance costs (10% for me) at ALL times. I know it takes a bit longer but it's NOTHING compared to starting all over.

You never know when something is going to go wrong (glitch or pirate) One time I died from the space station (Dahan) Flipping arround while I was docking.:eek:

Always have insurace money... it's a beta :p

There is no time limit in selling stolen items. Simply do not get caught by security carrying illegal cargo.

If you have stolen cargo and are trying to get in a station, As soon as you see that you are being scaned, Put the pedel to the metal and supercruse ASAP!! Sometimes if your fast enough, you can get out of scanner range before they get a reading then head to the nerest lawless system!

Is FD going to change to status on cargo drifting in space? I didn't think salvage was illegal, otherwise the guys that are currently salving the Concordia need to be locked up with the key thrown away. It's a shame there isn't a time limit. That way if it was illegally obtained cargo from a ship that was destroyed, by say a pirate would still have a status of "Stolen", where as cargo floating around for an our or more is salvage.

Feel your pain, lots of us have been through this some with bigger ships.

Only got my Cobra back last night after a few days of hauling. I was greedy, didn't have the insurance to cover the ship. I was carrying half a dozen containers of clothing which was probably worth 'nowt' which made it all the worse.

Life lessons eh? :D

Though currently that is a bit difficult as you have no way of knowing when you'll get scanned and you cannot mask the cargo in any way.

I seem to recall cargo masking is planned and there is a whole thread on non-illegal dropped cargo too.
