General / Off-Topic Well done England!

Well done the England ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ team on winning the Cricket World Cup ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ† commiserations to the New Zealand ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฟ team. It was an absolutely stellar game, on an thrilling knife-edge right to the very end! If there was an overall winner it was the international game of cricket! Well done to all!

Last time I enjoyed a match so much was in 94 when my wife and I were in Barbados ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ง, West Indies, when England beat the Windies in the One Day International at Bridgetown!

I feel rather tattered today, am a huge cricket fan, what a day....what a hangover!
I thought the New Zealanders were very gracious in defeat too, good on them.
I love Lords, its a wonderful place. Something magical about it.

Re: the ball hitting Stokes bat and deflecting for four.....The batsmen hadn't crossed at the time the ball was thrown in, thus it should only have been 5 runs not 6. Additionally, as they hadn't crossed Stokes should have stayed at the non-strikers end leaving Rashid to face fifth ball with three runs required to win. There's TV replays for instances of most things, but it wasn't used to sort out umpire error. Im happy England won, but as a cricket fan it makes a mockery of the game I grew up playing.

Interesting point - I see from the news reports the ICC has been approached for comment.

Freely admint I don't follow all the archaic rules for cricket (10 ways to be out??) but this will be a pretty sour way to win the WC.
