Well done FD your game killed me 5 times in a row every time I leave station after insurance claim.

Sounds like silent running is on? Check your joystick/keyboard for sticking keys?

I was doing my usual trading runs between two stations that I am friendly with and then all of a sudden my ship started to blow up... first I thought it was maybe me doing something wrong... so I claimed insurance then it happened again... and again and again and again. I am afraid to even play now because I might loose all my stuff...

I am done for tonight... not with the game! I still enjoy it... just not right now.
I take it you submitted a ticket? Maybe try it again in a sidewinder and record it so maybe someone here can help troubleshoot whether it's a bug or pilot error? Sounds like it's a bug but sometimes it's not.

Submit a ticket, and if it carries on try frapsing it? maybe there's something happening that you're missing. Or you could have a nasty bug goig on.
if its a problem with just a single station (something you wont know until you get away) try the launch and logout method.
launch your ship and while still inside the station log out. when you log back in again you'll find yourself outside the station at a distance of around 10 km, outside its range.
that will allow you to escape that station. i'd advise trading your ship in for a sidewinder to minimize any losses if its more than one station that kills you but this method should allow you to continue playing if its not.

When killed by a commander I believe it says "You were killed by CMDR Railgun Clipper" or somesuch.
I was in solo mode...
