Well I finally got my python. and LOVING IT

Hear is my current Set up..

[Python]
U: 0I Chaff Launcher

BH: 1I Lightweight Alloy
RB: 3A Power Plant
TM: 6D Thrusters
FH: 5B Frame Shift Drive
EC: 4D Life Support
PC: 6C Power Distributor
SS: 6D Sensors
FS: 4C Fuel Tank (Capacity: 32)

6: 6E Cargo Rack (Capacity: 64)
6: 6E Cargo Rack (Capacity: 64)
6: 6E Cargo Rack (Capacity: 64)
5: 5E Cargo Rack (Capacity: 32)
5: 5E Cargo Rack (Capacity: 32)
4: 4E Cargo Rack (Capacity: 16)
3: 3A Shield Generator
3: 3A Fuel Scoop
2: 2E Cargo Rack (Capacity: 4)

Ive played it for about 2 1/2 hours. and back up to 10 mil thats not including the 3.3mil insurance

I have almost no words to describe how this ship handles. its like a Cobra on steroids. as far as agility goes. 3A shields i can bump up to Type 6 and be OK.. dam NPC's
then enough to widdle past Type 9's .. and fast enough to not be bored from approching and leaving stations.

my route is a 30 LY trip each way resulting in 38.8k fuel cost but the 3A scoop is plenty enough for me.

I cant wait to drop some better upgrades in this beast to try out combat.

BTW DEV's WHY NO PYTHON PAINT JOBS!!!!!!
serious need in the python love people.

10 mil with 276tons ? I make 2 million/hour with 216tons and a 4 minute route. Tell me your secret plz

Glad to know your enjoying the Python, I can't wait to get mine, but I think I'm going for the T9 first.

I see your no paintjobs for the Python and raise you this:

DEV's Why no paint jobs for any of the higher range ships?????

And decals please for the love of god, I see all these amazing pirate paint jobs and decals and I can't obtain any of them.....Sad panda face.

I'm so close myself. Coming close to 60 million in the bank. Was just gunna swap my Clippers 5A FSD to mitigate some costs. I'm so exited :D

My route that slopys tool helped half way to make.. Was making 1400 one way and 1300 way back per ton for almost two weeks.. But now I'm down to 1200 both ways.. I'm killing the economy slowly. I'm just gonna bleed my route dry and move on. LoL

Hmm, a bit tentative... Python seems fine on the paper... but I like my current ship (it has served me through multiple hundreds of interdictions, millions in bounties, same in exploration, and so forth)... is it worth getting? (And for me, the biggest factor is: can it jump LONG distances).

What is the jump distance of a fully upgraded python? I never even considered that, I saw the look of the ship and the gun placement and fell in love. I'm a bit impulsive, it's why I avoid black Friday and strip clubs.

*chuckle* you should visit those. But yea, mainly I'm an explorer, so distance at times does matter a lot.

How does the ship handle compared to Cobra and Viper, besides being slower? I really don't like being outmaneuvered. All that firepower means nothing if I can't keep my target in front.

I have been after a Python as well, but now that I can finally afford it (including a cash buffer), I find I'm reluctant to get rid of my L7, Asp, and Viper, which are are fully kitted for their roles. Partly this is due to the repair costs, as I found them so high on the Asp even from minor combat damage, that I can only imagine what it would be like for the Python. Regardless, I'm somewhat envious, so do enjoy... BTW: I also find it disappointing that FD have not bothered to offer us skins past Cobra, this really should have been available from release for all the effort it takes. If due to workload, they could have made it a contest for users to come up with the designs. It is just a PSD template at the end of the day, if they have used the typical 3D modelling process, which I would expect. Anyway, I digress, have fun with your new ship, and I look forward to hearing how it works out for you.

I don't own a python, but the jump range on it is poor. Under 9LY with stock equipment.
If you lighten it I think some players were reporting around 20ly, nothing like an Asp if thats what you are using.

Oh wow, that's....Viper bad. Ah well guess I know what I'll be replacing my Viper with now for bounty hunting.

Keep your Asp, if there is one thing I learned from my time in Eve it's that having a ship for every role is a great boon for you. Don't just fly one ship, fly many....I have no reason to lie to you!

I tend to agree, the "new shiny" factor is what is tempting, though having 3 ships, each maxed for their own role does make gameplay more compelling. I got bored with trading a couple of days ago, so went on a hunting safari with the Viper; checked out some new systems, and had a blast (literally) playing bounty hunter, though seems I'm still shy a few for Competent Rank. At 315 bounties claimed, I'm not sure what I'm missing :-(
Just back to my home base after two days, and will now take the Asp out, besides needing to drop into a Imperial, and Alliance system, neither of which are that close to collect bounty payments, I need a dozen more systems to move up my Exploration Rank. Variety is the spice of life they say, and while a Python, L9, and Anaconda trio would be a nice upgrade, the cash requirements boggles the mind at this point in my ED career :)

I fragged several pythons in my cobra the other day . With that basic setup you wont last long . Paint jobs will be the least of your worries...
