Well I Finally Got To Sol

After receiving the Federation rank of Midshipman (ironic that as I had no plans to help the Federation but there you go) and I receive a permit to enter the Sol system. Underwhelming for trade to say the least is my first impression. I noticed a Conflict Zone at Barnards Star which I'll take a look at in a few months when I get myself a joystick and pedals (using keyboard atm so lousy for combat). Anyhow, having given up a lucrative trade route to come here (where is this senior naval person who is supposed to get in touch based?) to come to Sol, I am taking the day off to watch some catch up tv.

Anyone know where this Naval person is residing or was that just a ruse to get me here? Moreover, any decent two way trade routes within 20LY?

I just got to be Luitenant. They send me to Vega.. hopefully i'll reach Midshipman soon

Edit... crap! Isn't midshipman before Ensign?

After getting the SOL permit, I did a few local errands and started getting naval kill missions, kill the traitor General xxx in xxx. I did some gold trading, 500cd/T before the trade buff then started on rares.

I tried heading to the Empire earlier but got smashed by a Black Hole. I couldn't match the escape vector when I jumped into system and my ship got crushed. Can't remember the system but it was about 35LY from LS2447 (or is that 3447 - one of the starting systems) and I got crushed to the size of a tin can taking damage and then pop! My ship was crushed.

Yes. You go to Recruit, Cadet then Midshipman. Then the ranks soar ever upwards until you maybe one day take over the entire fleet, overthow the Federation and start the Glorious Empire.......where's my meds?
