Well I like Prospector Drones

There is a lot of criticism of the prospector limpets and while they are not perfect, I like them.
My profits have gone up substantially with the introduction of the prospector. I don't mind them.
They are after all there to provide advantages to those in bigger ships and to add scalability to mining. I has motivated me to start saving for a ship with a lot more cargo space than the current 64 tons on my Asp. Consistently I take 60 limpets out to Pristine rings or High Intensity Res and use them as prospectors and collectors and I always end up a full cargo load of Plat, Pall, Gold and Painite. with some osmium phht! Filler.

My big problem last night was that the first two rocks I scanned yielded 9 tons of Platinum Eureka!!! So I had to start firing out prospectors to get rid of them and make room for the incoming riches. It sis allow me to sample other rocks nearby and find goodies.
My technique is to Usually to approach a cluster and Fire the prospector at a roid that is further away as I approach. While it is doing its thing I then use the laser to sample the close ones. Once I get a reading I either head there if its good quality or move and fire off sampling others while doing it manually for the closer ones. So far I have only run out of limpets once before the cargo bay was completely full. But I don't collect anything less than Osmium and only collect that as a by product.

The one change, I would like to see the limpets hang around for a while so you can use them to tag roids and retarget them. Sometimes I will fire one off and find something good but not fantastic, so I fire off a few more as I approach the group to see if there is anything better. If there isn't I have to manually eye the previous rock to find the better one again. It would be nice if the limpest stayed in the contacts list for a few mins so I could retarget and find it. In regards to scaling up to a bigger ship, this would be great to come into a fields and fire off a whole heap of limpets and cycle through them in contacts to find the best roids.

mmmmm Platinum and Painite

I have had good time using them as well helps a lot knowing what roid to hit next and while my collectors work i am searching out my next roid.

I use them exclusively and I love them.

I think they could be better if I have to blow a ton of cargo space for each asteroid.

I think module "rank" should increase the number they can scan, and "class" should affect number of simultaneous drones as it does now.

But honestly I don't even want to leave home without them now - I don't want to play roid slot machine with my lasers.
