No ED for a few days, seems. Windoze machine's PSU decided to die. *sigh* And just in middle of a profitable mission [alien]

edit: solved!

Oh dear - sorry to hear that.

Are you sure it's dead? Sometimes connectors and power buttons die before the PSU itself. Sometimes just loading it with a fan and jumpering a start can resurrect them before putting a big draw back on them. Sometimes it's just a blown cap. Don't go messing with the inside though unless you really know what you are doing.

Well, if it's just a fuse it burned, didn't yet check that. The machine just died while I was messing with some bounty hunting. PSU doesn't even spin up the fan now ...

edit: well, I be damned... THANKS GUYS for making me check the cabling. Somehow the wall plug had managed to come so loose it lost connection XD... Phew.

Some mod? Close this :D ... problem solved. And I was just about to have a bit of nerd rage fit XD

Yeah, It's not just that if the processor goes or memory on some boards the PSU will stop. Jumper block on the ATX connector will show if the PSU is working.

OP.. How do you know it's the PSU died it fizzle out?

Usually I use Seasonic PSUs, never had problems with then.

My current built uses a Super Flower PSU, because Seasonic couldn't supply the required wattage.

See just above your post. *Somehow* the wall plug got loosened over time.

This wouldn't been the first burned PSU I've had, so didn't cross my mind at all to check the cabling itself...
