So, with the Arque Community Goal complete-and a nice 10 million credits in my account-I decided to head back toward Lave, via Leesti to complete a couple of missions. There I found them selling the ship of my dreams.....the Fer De Lance. Sadly the 51 million credit price tag is currently well beyond my current means [downcast]. Oh well, at least I have an idea of where to find one when the time is right.
So I decided to take on a hostage rescue message......and got the dreaded mission wrinkle telling me my target had gotten himself an escort. .
Oh well, not to be dismayed, I outfitted my ship with a cargo scanner and hatch breaker limpets & headed out to Tionisla to find my Quarry.
Oddly enough, I dispatched my target's escort fairly efficiently (though at the cost of 50% of my hull), but sadly it was all for nought, as over-zealous system security destroyed my target before I could even scan his cargo hold for the hostages.......oops.
(If anyone has any advice on how to complete these missions successfully, btw, I would greatly appreciate it).
So I returned to Lave, tail between my legs, forced to admit failure at my mission [downcast].
I quickly bounced back, though, & headed back to Tionisla to pick up the Bounty Vouchers I forgot to cash in last time....and picked up some more on the way to my destination
. I also sold off some commodities I picked up at Lave. Then, to end off the night, I decided to pop into a local Resource Extraction Site to do a bit of bounty hunting. My first encounter did *not* go so well, as I foolishly took on a wing of 2 pirates. They managed to get me a cracked canopy and a 30% hull! I would normally head back to the barn in these cases.....but this time I decided to stick around-following the local security around. This managed to earn me over 200,000 credits (in under 20 minutes) without any further loss of hull.
All the same, it was a relief to get back to Ing Ring!!!
