Well that's not what I expected

I don't think I've found a water world in a brown dwarf system before, but apparently they exist.

My hope to one day find an ELW in one is slightly reinvigorated. I've found ELWs orbiting brown dwarfs but there's always been a main sequence star in close attendance to brighten it up a bit.

Nice! Yes, it's rare, but you can find these, and even Earth likes if you're very lucky. I've found one ELW orbiting a brown dwarf so far, as well as seeing them in black hole and NS systems too, so you can find neat stuff around non-sequence "stars" as well.

Just yesterday I found a ringed WW orbiting a Y-class dwarf, in deep orbit around a large A-type star. True, it wasn't a brown-dwarf-only system like yours, but I too was chuffed at seeing anything other than the usual string of iceballs orbiting a brown dwarf.

And yes, Earth-likes around brown dwarfs are possible, though extremely unlikely. The ELW database currently has 69 L-type, two T-type and one Y-type brown dwarf entries. Compare that with 176 neutron stars, 25 T-Tauris, 6 white dwarfs and 5 black holes.

The statistics are skewed, of course, because many brown dwarf systems are usually bypassed by deep-space explorers, especially now that we can filter them out entirely, whereas neutron stars and black holes are specifically targetted. From the database, here's the Earth-like "moon" of a Y-class and here's an Earth-like in an L-class brown-dwarf-only system.

Cool find Cmdr...in all my time exploring I have found exactly 1 of these (so yes, they are rare). It was a boring run-of-the-mill brown dwarf with a large number of ice balls and a WW. I was very surprised.

Well spotted Commander! Anomalies do seem to crop up from time to time, where they'd be most unlikely to happen IRL.

Awesome discovery. I too have found something today that I have been looking for my entire time in game. An untagged Stellar Forge generated Black Hole that weighs in at 45 solar masses. I can not tell you how deliriously happy I was when I jumped in system and saw that behemoth. I did not think they were possible. I mean I know there are bigger ones but as far as I know all the ones bigger than that are in named systems and already tagged.

That's a good one iain. I'm going to check my data to see if I have one of these.
If not it's another one to add to my bucket list.

CMDR Tootiny

Well according to my spreadsheet... I did find one of these. Will post a pic tomorrow.

Edit to add:
Then again maybe not... I have a list of possibles but they seem unlikely. I'll check this weekend.

Found an ELW tonight in an M9,T6,L7 system. So close, if that M9 had had just had a bit less mass available when it formed... Probably the coldest system I've found an ELW in though, earth like was a mere 290K average temperature at 0.06AU from the star.

Tidally locked ELW too, which you don't see all that often. But not quite there yet.

No, not yet. In my life on the rim I don't actually see the big protostars all that often. T Tauris with WW, AW and CFTs is the closest I've come to a protostar ELW.

Nice find :) These are rare indeed. Brown dwarfs occasionally offer some interesting surprises

I did have one. Not as good as Pirin but still a nice one. sorry about the black out system name. I'm 5 months minus 5 days from docking.
