General / Off-Topic Well... The Cold War is back guys

The thing is that I'm not lying. That's just Ad Hominem and worse than what you accuse me of.

If I thought I could trust you to not divulge things I could send you in pm that I don't want in a public post, then I would pm you. But I don't trust you not to do that due to the way you have posted here.

Suffice to say that I *am* better placed than *anyone else* posting here about the actual air situation over Syria and can tell you for a fact that US and coalition aircraft are flying over Syria (and Iraq and other nations) with the express consent of the sovereign governments if those nations. Fact.

The fact that maybe you don't want to take that information on board tells us all more about your level of trustworthiness than mine.

I'm going to fork this over to Cold War thread, because people probably only want the other thread to be about Clinton/Trump nonsense.

What a load of bull. You can't provide any real legal internationally accepted information but trust you it's all legit. Syria loves what the US collation of the willing is doing in their Country.
The record is clear, the US said it doesn't need to ask for permission, Syria said any violations are an 'act of aggression', and the complaints to the UN are about once a year since 2014 at least.

Add in the fact that at several times, Syria (and Russia) only asked to be included in the intel and notifications of US actions, and the US refused.

Via the channel past the Straits of Dover: To be honest, looking at the black smoke coming out of the stacks, it looks like it is an old coal fired steamer, not even out running the wind.

Yes and I have read that it is the only aircraft carrier in service in the Russian army

:D

HAHA, seriously!? This is your comeback? How absolutely clueless must you be to not see who is funding and inciting the terrorists in the Middle East.
I guess if it wasn't for the baby-eating Regime of the Syrian Government and Russia's "War on Terror" there would be no terror in Syria at all. Right?

So you have no answer to the question then?

Russia has sent their creaky old jet carrier to Syria. It's an odd duck (like the British ones being built) as it has no catapults. Those Migs can only launch with a very light loadout.

On the other hand it's being escorted by the Kirov class battlecruiser Peter the Great (sorry, can't check Russian name just now), and that one is a serious piece of work. The latter has over 130 anti aircraft missiles in it's batteries, and can seriously shut down any air operations by NATO.

I'd say it's still a game of brinkmanship and hopefully a bluff... but those assets can make a serious claim for air superiority in the area. Now if we add an US carrier group to the mix, things will get really tense.

The Russia accuses the international coalition of war crimes in Iraq. In a communiqué, the spokesman of the army, Igor Konachenkov denounces a raid of the coalition on Friday against the city of Dakouk, near Kerkuk. "Dozens of deaths civilian among whom of the women and children. "We observed on numerous occasions that such murderous strikes, which present all the signs of war crimes, become practically a daily routine for the aviation of the international coalition".

Just little brat politics. Or, a need to divert attention from 'aid column strikes' and BUK missile use.

If you want to discuss the cold war and whether it still exists or not - please do so.

However I have removed some off topic posts about language structure, so please keep you disagreements to the thread topic. Thank you.

Well let's see. By today's standard, some of the events of the Cold War could be reviewed for some perspective.

Bay of Pigs, Cuban Missile Crisis, Iran Contra come to mind.

Holy False Flag! That killed the thread pretty quick didn't it. :)

All these countries burning and being destroyed around the world and the Cold War is not so Cold it seems. Is a War on Terror a War on the World? Some crazy Generals live for it.

"a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity,” Harry Reid stated

Is this a Conspiracy Theory too? What does 'openly hostile' mean?

I guess what he is saying is that by their very existence, they are hostile? Openly, subversively, whatever. I'm just gobsmacked at this stance. It's Strangelove level thinking.
