Heh yeah.

Still though, why not just leave it as it was? People are none the wiser regardless. I don't see the benefit unless FDev thinks people will fill out bug reports more accurately ("wait, was it Mauve Adder or Black Cobra, or Red Dwarf? ah well whatever").

I'm kinda-wondering if it's a similar principle to What Three Words, where it actually tells them quite a lot.

Or it could just be a new fad.

Yeah, like others I think it's to help tracking down errors when the forums fill with 'I got an Orange Sidewinder connection error' etc. Sadly they did it in a release that seems to be returning all the errors at once
