Were close binary stars removed?

I just completed DW2. I today realized that I don’t think I ran across a single very close binary star pair. Were they spaced out more for realism in the recent update?

I just came back from a 2 month jaunt and found a few systems where I couldn't have flown between the 2 stars at the jump-in point without cooking myself horribly. In fact I did once and nearly ended my trip rather prematurely.

No they haven't been removed. On my way to beagle point, on hyperdrive exit, I have flown through two stars that were close to the exit star. Was great in VR.

Yes that's exactly what happened, it still occurs from time to time but it's rare now, you just don't notice them.

I think I read in one of the patch notes they had altered the way you enter a star system so you wouldn't get insta gibbed by binary or trinary systems like this One which nearly did for me a long time ago.

I just came from Beagle Point as well, and no, they are not removed.

Now that you mention it, it does seem like it was dropping me out further away in systems occasionally, having to move in more to scoop or whatnot, than what it has recently. Haven't noticed being dropped in further out in a while, but have come in hot to some close binaries relatively recently.

The trajectory and alignment when jumping into a system and for setting up for the next jump is still better than what it was a couple years ago or so, so maybe this is mitigating the risk still somewhat as well, but as above as I and others have mentioned, it's still a thing.

Actually took a little bit of heat damage maybe half a month or so ago, jumping in through close binaries. Taking damage this way beyond just getting a little warm and setting off the warning is actually very, very rare for me, along the lines of maybe once a year or two. Though to be fair, I'm generally not on as demanding a pace as I was for DW2.

Are you guys noticing being dropped in further from the main star now and then still? I haven't noticed it in a while. Might just be the luck of the draw, of course, but seems less frequent to me.

Regarding realism, I'm hoping we eventually get stars pulling each other apart, swirling in together, accretion disks, and so on. A guy can dream.
