Were the fixes done in Odyssey alpha not moved from the branch to the trunk?

Apart from the newer issues (orange cobra loop , carriers causing crashes, server stability etc)

I've noticed a lot of 'minor' issues have 're-appeared'.

Missions handed in at terminals aren't updating the UI and clearing from the journal , even though they're rewarding the player a relog has to be done to fix it.
Fines Paid don't clear anonymous access , a relog has to be done to fix it.
Collection missions from crash sites, items under the terrain or invisible terrain..
Issues streaming using OBS , massive framerate loss on planets and stations

And many more...BUT....

I remember ALL these being reported AND FIXED in the alpha...

Yeah, it doesn't make sense...I don't really understand what they were trying to achieve with the whole "Alpha" thing anyways.

They said it wasn't the newest internal version of the game.

So people were playing an older buggy version and reporting those bugs and they were fixing them, but then they went and released a whole different, newer version of the game later. Were they just looking in the newer code branch for the bugs that existed in the older version and hoping they were still there?

That's not the most productive way to do anything.
