NES version was interesting in how it rendered 3D graphics using sprites, iirc?

I played primarily on my ZX Spectrum. I made it to Deadly, but not Elite.

Also I tended to use Mining lasers for combat. No real energy drain and no overheating issues and it was two hits to kill a light fighter up to six for a Python.

Don't remember my rank (wasn't elite) and only played the original - missed both successors.

Reached Elite on the C64, played that game for months non-stop.

Can't remeber what I reached on first encouters, I found combat to be a bit of a drag. Had a Panther Clipper by the end though.

I played it on a com 64 but I moved to Canada and my tape from the UK would not work over here.

I got to Elite on the ZX Spectrum. I can still picture the reward screen! I got to Deadly in FFE before (shh, don't tell anyone) getting bored.
