Wetwork missions.

Morning all.

I have a query regarding wetwork missions. Yesterday I picked one up in a neighbouring lawless system, part 1 was to scan the comms array to find my target's location and part 2 to shoot them.

Prior to 2.1 the assassination missions were easy you'd go to the required system and blow them up. I quite like the new aspect but my question is how do I scan the array? The first attempt was my friend and I to stay in our ships and kill everything before landing, my word the amount of turrets shooting me in the face was unbelievable. Second attempt involved me "sneaking in" wuth my srv whilst my friend distracted them in his ship. Now I managed to get right up to the array but my little srv decided it didn't want to scan and then was blown up via the turrets.

Now I'm pretty sure I'm doing it wrong, can anyone advise me on what the correct way is? My other idea is to load up without horizons and do wetwork missions that way but that kinda defeats the point of going planet side.

Kindest regards, mm.

I'm not sure what that problem is there to be honest. Usually the SRV can scan it if you switch to turret view and aim yourself at it (I think?) But also: you can't use ships to do it (planetary defence) and taking out the power generator is definitely recommended, you might have to shoot down a few sentries (but that's easily done in pairs.)

First, I think not every step is necessary anymore, but do it just to be fail-safe..

- in control options activate firing deploys hardpoints
- go to control options / SRV section / rebind datalink scanner to your secondary fire button (if it's allready binded do it anyway!), accept changes
- in the SRV go to right hand panel and set datalink scanner to secondary fire button
- go to the datapoint. The scanner should snap on it automaticly, if the point is very high you maybe need to go to turret view and target it yourself
- hold down secondary fire button...

Good luck, they are the hardest missions in game in my opinion.

Ah yes ^ that was it.
It's the same for datalink points outside of bases (like in POIs, etc.)

Definitely taking it with an ally while you're both in SRVs can be handy.

Babel, you're too helpful, I can't give you rep yet even ;P
