Wetwork Question

I've picked up a ton of these Spec Ops missions, wipe out a bunch of softie civvies, then go to an anarchy IF, clean up, rinse repeat. Yes I'm in open on an alt.

You don't gain notoriety, and system security is jammed.

Since I'm purging these bounties, do I even show up as wanted by the faction I'm punishing (on their system bounty boards)?

This seems so easy it's wrong. It's a nice mat farm. At least with assassination missions they sort of shoot back.

Not really sure wetwork missions provide an especially good opportunity to gather mat's.

You arrive at the POI, the convoy of targets all scatter as soon as you shoot at the first one and then you've got around 60 seconds to explode as many ships as possible before the survivors jump out.... and then you have to schlepp across to another POI (which is almost always several thousand Ls from the previous one) to do it all again.

You can pick up some mat's from the last couple of ships you destroy but, given that you probably need to explode a dozen or more ships and you manage 3 or 4 per POI, you're probably going to be more concerned about getting on with it than hoovering up mat's.

The ships are usually either Belugas/Orcas/Dolphins or they're "normal" ships, in which case you can gather the same mat's at leisure either by visiting tourist beacons to kill civvie ships or RES's & CNB's to kill shooty ships.

The missions, themselves, do provide a certain amount of challenge by requiring you optimise your ability to chase-down and kill ships quickly.
Either an FdL or a Krait is, IMO, the best ship for the job, depending on whether you want to gather mat's or not.

I haven't tried Wetwork jobs yet; the description didn't interest me much - I generally try to stick to the spirit of the law LOL. I tend to get a lot of mats from the endless list of FdL's and Anacondas that come after me on Navy Supply runs. "BRAAAAAP!" and deploy the collector lol.
Question for the OP: do you get any opposition or is it purely one-sided? I might try one if the Feds offer it.

Are you talking about Wetwork or Spec Ops? Spec Ops are illegal massacre missions, so all the civvies are targets and can be cleaned up, and are alright sources of the "mechanical" mats.

But wetwork are illegal assassinations. Taking out the escorts they have will give notoriety as they aren't mission targets, and I wouldn't call them a good source of mats.

You'll get a bounty with the jurisdiction you're working in, or if in Anarchy, no bounty.

It's the Mission reward mats. Nothing but t1-3 from targets.

Its cargo ships without guns. Completely one sided. I'm flying a Mamba, but you could do these in an eagle. Payouts have been 1-3 million, useless cargo or t5 mats.

I think you may be right. Spec Ops. I was just clicking and killing. I do get bounty notifications, but pay the bounties at an anarchy IF before returning to base. I was wondering if once you pay them at the IF , is there still some system wide record of acquiring the bounty on the system services station page?

Nup... that's my MO when I do these missions too. You'll tank rep with the target faction obviously, but that's all. If you get hostile, you won't be able to dock at any stations owned by them.
