Newcomer / Intro Whar's the red warning triangle in the Info Panel?

There's an icon similar to a generic British "Hazard" road sign that flashes in the Info Panel title bar from time to time. It's an exclamation mark within a triangle.

I've searched here and in the manual and can't find anything about it. Anyone know what it's supposed to be warning me about? Nothing else is coming up elsewhere in the interface.

Isn't it a collision warning?

There's another one in the right-hand UI menu (Modules tab) when your power plant doesn't generate sufficient power to run all your systems and you haven't set power priorities to switch non-essential modules off when you deploy hardpoints.

The sole triangle "hazard" sign is just a general warning against whatever.
It's basically telling you "Caution, something requires your full attention"

It is usually followed by more specific warnings, like proximity/collision warning, under attack, heat damage, module malfunction, etc. Those are always accompanied by both voice and text.

Also pay attention to the area just under your hull "health bar". The warning icons there can further specify what's happening with the ship. (You can also see them under the health bar of your target):
