Hi all,
I believe since the PowerPlay update the Major Factions (Empire, Federation and Alliance) have lost their previous status. Now it is more important which Power Faction do you belong that which Major. Being Imperial is less than being Arissa or Denton party member. Why I said that and why it is bad for all of us?
Because if you join a Power Faction you seem to lose your main allegiance. Or its meaning. If you are follower of Patreus you can't go into other Imperial Power's territory unharm, because you are "hostile" there. How the hell can somebody be hostile to another fellow Imperial commander??? There is no war between Powers yet, only rivalry. Remember, these Powers are rivals but they belong to Empire too! Shooting at a not wanted (Imperial!) ship should be a crime, like it was before the update. When Powers declare war or civil war on each other then would be free to fire any hostile ship. Without war situation it is nothing else but unjustified assault I think.
So think twice before join a Power. If you were Empire-hearted it won't count anymore. You will be free target in most of Imperial space. And that is not how I imagine this should work. I abandoned today participating in PowerPlay, because I want to play for the Empire. If there will be a civil war maybe I will choose my side but until that I am not thinking about other Imperials as they are my enemies.
I hope someone from FD will think about it and in 1.4 or maybe sooner this nonsense will be solved.
