Was just thinking about the game's instancing, and the complaints people have had about communication, and the sense of isolation with the current features.
Then I was thinking about Dark Souls, and watching other peoples' ghostly forms sitting around at bonfires etc, or reading their messages... it made me feel, even as I stayed "hollow" to prevent invasion, that I wasn't entirely alone.
I was just thinking it might be nice if we had some sort of player bulletin board for stations, using a similar system to Dark Souls. Could even limit player word usage the same way ("Amazing chest ahead" always makes me laugh).
And in a similar way, it'd be cool if you could sometimes see supercruising ships in the sky, while inside an instance. Not in realtime - FTL engines would make that difficult. But if you saw the occasional shooting star/comet, and knew it was the "echo" of another player's ship... might be a nice detail.
Just a thought. Anyone have any ideas along these lines?
