What about the signs in the backround of the new screenshot?

I was wondering about all the signs in the new screenshot that are facing away from the camera. Could this be a hint at custom billboards??

Can´t remember seeing signs like these in the game before - but this could just be because I haven´t played that much recently.
Anyway, custom billboards would be great - now that custom music and sounds seem to be confirmed, it´s one of the missing pieces for in depth park customisation.

SPRidley is right. However, the surprises and reveals that us Frontier tour veterans are getting every day proves there was still a fair bit of stuff that we weren't shown on the day. So the fact that we're only seeing the back of those signs, could be a tease. It might be nothing. But everything, and how they're presented in these reveal pictures have been purely intentional.

Aye but what limit would you like?

A HD video at 24fps @ 1080p for a minute in length could be 100mb or so. It really does depend on how far you want to push it.

A 4k video to really match this would be in the GB to give you a few mins.

Me too! With a higher limit than was in RCT3 where you could only place a 5 MB video.
Higher why not, but not too high either.

20/30mb max for a mp4 or any animated pictures like gif is more than enough. No need for a high resolution if it is to import is the game.
If it's bigger than that, it can take sooooooo much time to download a park with custom content included.

It's my case, but not everyone have fiber [happy][up]

Okie dokie, I mean I would suggest that 40mb is probably the smallest you would want. You probably want to play a video with a resolution between 480 & 720p. Anything less and I think it would feel out of place with PC as the resolution will be too low. I can see people producing lots of custom videos & GIF. I wouldn't mind having the option for higher myself as I have no bandwidth issues but I understand that isn't fair on others.

I'm leaning toward at least one of them being a "no entry/staff only" sign. Johnny looks lost, and the only other soul in sight is an employee.

Is that Jonny Watts freaking out because people can see the new features?!!! [haha][haha][haha][haha][haha][haha]

What I haven't seen and am a bit worried about atm is actual text writing in game so we can name our ride banners finally. Haven't seen that so I am a bit sad atm that might not make it at launch.

720p ??? Wooowwww !!!

It's just a video that you can put on a billboard, on a wall in a darkride, or something like that ... It's not a youtube video or a divx here [big grin]

Now imagine you are adding 40mb videos one after the other in your park.
Its not the bandwith what you are using there, its actual resources from your PC, as its taking the videos from your PC, just like custom music (and just like custom music, dissapear when you upload the park anywhere else). The park would be literally unplayable.

Im all for jpeg/png billboards myself, and even super small gifs or videos (maybe with a format where a 30 second scene repeated 100 times doesnt make your pc crawl). But what you are asking for is just not feasible.

Personally I think a 256-colour gif would detract from the overall quality of the rest of the game, but that's just my opinion. I can see the benefits of allowing small-ish images and videos, but gifs... [noob]

I'm not saying I want it, however I am suggesting that if they were in then they would need to allow for this size. I play on a 4K monitor and videos at low resolution become so blurry that they are unwatchable.

I am suggesting that this feature won't work well if they don't allow big enough files because of the higher resolution we game at now.

We was talking about people having to download your custom videos and place them in folder so that whole comment was about bandwidth.

I am often rendering 4K videos whilst playing without too much issue so I really don't see a 40mb video being a problem. Heck a music track as custom music can easily be larger than that

well update: With the new image on facebook, I guess my worries about text on signs not being in game is no more a worry!

Devs must have seen my post?! but if not in any case, I came back from chemo today and WHAM! Surprise on facebook! Thank you!

I have to admit, these little hints in pictures are a bit frustrating, but also fun as well. Kind of a clever way for Frontier to keep us guessing. I guess we will have to wait for the live stream Monday when Sam will tell us all we need to know (hopefully). So excited! Less than a week until beta!
