not new, but I just can't get lucky with mining?
When void opals were new I only ever found asteroids that were already exploded.
when ltds had triple, I never got close to getting as many as I saw other commanders get.
And since they introduced exploding asteroids I have only ever found three or four to actually explode.
I tried mining recently after their latest update or they said they balanced out the hot spots, I went right for the center of alexandrite, of tritium, void, and a few others, and I never actually found anything in the hot spot for what the hotspot was named for except tritium. And that one I found a few asteroids that had 10 to 15%.
I have scanned, prospected, used the website to go to pristine rings, but the result is always the same.
Any tips or are many experiencing this difficulty

It has been said in numerous posts about the PWS that, if you turn around and rescan already-scanned areas, you'll see results! I haven't had a chance to do any mining for some time so I can only relate that info, not corroborate or refute it. Maybe worth a try if only to prove to yourself that you're not doing anything 'wrong' and it's just the problem reported with the scanner.

Only thing I noticed with the scanner is that it is extremely short range now. Before you can at least see some glowing in the distance but now they only really show up when you're close. What I think is broken, is that even when an asteroid is depleted it will still glow

Again, same question, same mistake, same missing info...

WHERE did you mine hotspots? Which system, body and ring? Was it Pristine or Depleted system? Did you thoroughly prospect each rock in center of hotspot turning 360, spending 60 limpets, or just fired a few and said "ah frag this is broken"?

I don't know how to look in game for pristine, thats why i used the website for finding planetary bodies and you filter what you want to search for. I went to two different systems that both had pristine and I went to the center of several hot spots as mentioned above. I mined for about 30 minutes at each hotspot and only tritium actually had tritium, the others did not have any of the material of the hotspot it was named for
