What am I missing?

I talked to my friend today who has been a long time alpha and beta backer. Due to vacation and being away from his computer he did not get to fire up the Gamma until today. He then tells me that when he fired up the game for the first time today (in Gamma), he was presented with the choices of starting the game as a Bounty hunter, Pirate, Trader, Explorer and something else and that one of those choices, the trader, came with a Cobra, 1000cr, and 2000cr worth of cargo.

What gives? I am also a beta backer, albeit later than he was and I didn't get any of those choices. Can someone please educate me?

I think he is simply a Kickstarter backer, and they get more swag than us rubbish Beta backers

(also understandable, depends how much he pledged at the time, more money = more privileges)

yes, under options there is a "clear save" option, it will reset your Char.

Yeah Kickstarter or alpha access. Those options are the same as the standard ones but prefixed with KS (as I recall) and come mostly with Cobras as the ship
