What and When Do you think Modding will be possible?

The Title says it all. Me, I honestly don't have any Ideas for modding, not any good ones atleast🤣 I just wanna know what the community thinks.

It seems Universal won't allow it. I think we won't see mod support any time soon.

Though there are already working mods. But they are not readily available to people.

Personally I would want to fix the broken wrists of the theropods in the game.

As nice as this would be, I highly doubt they will ever change them simply because that's how the dinosaurs in JP were designed all the back with the first movie and have remained that way pretty much throughout all of the JP/JW movies, as anatomically incorrect as it is.

You know this thread is about modding right? Because it will likely never be changed is the reason why I posted about it.

Oh derp, ignore my comment then. I did initially read about the mods, and then brain completely threw that topic out the window when i saw the one line lol.

Why would you bother with doing that? Nothing about the Dinosaurs in the franchise or movies are scientifically accurate. It would be a total waste of time. While you fix one inaccuracy many more remain and may never get corrected. It would be like putting lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. Now matter what you do it's just a science fiction Dinosaur.

I doubt mods will ever be allowed, at least officially. I am sure some will happen anyway. But most mods are garbage anyway. Just look at all the mods for JPOG and most of them are just bad even with all the effort people dumped into them. Matter of fact most mods for games are just bad. A lot of them don't work right and can be a huge pain to deal with. I have dealt with some pretty terrible mods. The best mods for JPOG were always the simple ones that made changes to the .ini file.

I would rather have professionally made content.

So true.

I wouldn't put the possibility of modding completely out. However, I think if it is ever allowed it will be the very last thing that is implemented into the game. Basically whenever Frontier decides to stop making updates and dlc they might allow it then. This is assuming that the development follows up to the last movie in which case when US is done with the IP (possibly forever) they will probably not care about people modding the game. It also gives Frontier/US one last hurrah for them to sell the game to people who either have been holding out till modding is specifically added in or new people seeing the potential hype built around it be added in.

Well, just because there is one last movie in this particular series for the franchise doesn’t mean they will stop doing more content for the entire IP, ignore it completely or stop earning or owning the rights right afterwards. That’s now how mainstream IP owners typically work.

I could be wrong but I think the issue is that Jurrasic Park actually belongs to the Chrichton estate and is leased out to Universal Studios. They ultimately decide on how long US is able to milk the IP. I believe the same goes for "The Hobbit" and "LOTR" in that the descendants/family or whoever work to protect the original author's intellectual property so that it isnt ruined or tarnished. Netflix is trying to come out with something based in the Tolkien universe but they have to run everything (ideas, use of characters, etc) through whoever controls the estate first.

The whole reason why US is suddenly making three new movies and turning out all of this new merchandise after not really doing anything with it for so long is partly because of agreements with the Chrichton estate. I think after this next movie US will never be able to make a JP related movie ever again. Im not sure how that relates to merchandise and use of the IP outside of that though.
