What animals would you choose for Aquatic animal pack?

If by any chance we would get another Aquatic DLC in December and if it would be a regular DLC or the Animal pack what animals would you choose for it?

I would go with:

Capybara
Platypus
Asian small clawed otter
Walrus
Manatee
Shoebill
Pelican
Ex: Piranha aquarium

and for a regular DLC:

Capybara
Platypus
Walrus
Manatee
Ex: Piranha aquarium

I am really curious what Aquatic animals are the most important for you 🤩

The lesser known Aquatic animal that I really like but don’t believe will ever make it is South American: Water opossum

I don’t want another unless it’s fully aquatic with aquariums

Yay, more threads to make wishlists.

Standard aquatic 2 pack:
  • Asian small clawed otter or Eurasian otter
  • Capybara
  • Walrus
  • Great white pelican
  • Philippine sailfin lizard (E)
Aquatic 2 animal pack:
  • Common swan
  • European mink
  • Atlantic puffin (if it can be outside an aviary) / Nile crocodile

Since the last DLC already contained 3 aquatic habitat animals + 1 aquatic exhibit, I don't think we will get this kind of pack again in December though.

4+1 pack:
Capybara
Asian Small Clawed Otter
Harp Seal
Platypus
Alligator Snapping Turtle (Exhibit)

Honestly I'm not even sure I can pull an animal pack out of this without repetition (2 otters) or birds that also fly (swans and pelicans). Using that though, I'd go with the above 5 and add in a North American River Otter, Australian Pelican and White Swan

if the DLC contains 8 animals
  • Capybara (LC)
  • Platypus (NT)
  • Chinese giant salamander (CR)
  • Southern elephant seal (LC)
  • West Indian manatee (VU)
  • Wild water buffalo (EN)
  • Dalmatian pelican (NT)
  • Ex: Axolotl (CR)
for a regular DLC:
  • Capybara (LC)
  • Platypus (NT)
  • Southern elephant seal (LC)
  • West Indian manatee (VU)
  • Ex: Axolotl (CR)

For an Aquatic Animal Pack, I'd pick the following:

  • Capybara (of course).
  • Asian small-clawed otter.
  • Great white pelican.
  • King eider.
  • Walrus.
  • Little blue penguin.
  • Mute swan.
  • Chinese giant salamander (E).

Bird-heavy but I think we need that now.

There can never be too many seals or penguins, as far as I'm concerned. The incredibly beautiful harp seal would be nice.

But for an aquatic pack I'd actually really like things like sharks, porpoises, belugas and sea turtles, and things like that. I know I'll probably get attacked for even mentioning those, but they'd be fun to have. It is just a game, after all.

Bolded animals would be my choice for a scenery pack.
Walrus
Platypus
Southern Rockhopper Penguin
Asian Small-Clawed Otter
Capybara

Yellow-Eyed Penguin
Fishing Cat
Axolotl (exhibit)
I find it rather unlikely that we'll get another aquatic pack, however. The leaked scenery pieces were most likely scrapped from the first aquatic pack.

I keep seeing people suggest this as a possibility, but if that were the case, why weren't they found until immediately after the most recent major update? Maybe one of our beloved dataminers can chime in here, because I really don't see any reason for them to re-add references to scrapped items into the game so I'll keep assuming they're more likely upcoming additions until proven wrong.

Anyway.
  • Capybara
  • Walrus
  • North American river otter (Asian small clawed otter is also perfectly good, if not my personal preference)
  • Platypus
  • Rockhopper penguin (macaroni penguin is also fine, I'd just like to see one of the yellow crested species either way)
  • Fishing cat (feels a bit less in scope than some of these choices but whatever)
  • Great white pelican OR Nile crocodile
  • Axolotl
Cut the last three habitat species if this must be a scenery pack. Really not sure how I feel about this potentially copying the format of the first aquatic pack wholesale (new otter, penguin, pinniped, and possibly crocodilian) but I really don't see much way around it short of going really ham on birds... which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, tbh.

The water opossum is a fascinating suggestion that I never would've otherwise considered, but it suffers the problem of being as best as I can tell near nonexistent in captivity (if not outright nonexistent). This is definitely a time when I'd prefer a less unique actual "zoo animal" over something unrealistically unique.

Not enough people talk about a crested penguin for the third penguin choice! I would love to have rockhoppers!

If we are speaking an animal pack:
  • Capybara
  • Fishing Cat
  • Asian Small Clawed Otter
  • Duckbilled Platypus
  • Pink-backed Pelican
  • Arrau Turtle
  • Pacific Walrus
  • Axolotl
I also considered a Giant Salamander of some sort and an Alligator Snapping turtle, but decided to keep it yo these choices. More penguins would always be cool but I am really interested in any non-flamingo or penguin aquatic birds
