What animals would you love that you think are "unpopular" / rarely asked for?

Been curious about this for a while. There's some animals that are common requests and seem universally wanted, but there's the occasional wishlist that seems very unique. What animals would you love, even though it feels like almost nobody else asks for them?

The first that comes to mind for me is the leopard seal. I think I've seen someone else mention it, but it's not high on many lists. I agree that it's not a high priority animal for making this game feel complete. But they're so cool and strange, would be a very special addition to the game!

I have seen people mentioning it, but it is really not that typical zoo animal, so I am going to say Kiwi. I need more small animals for nocturnal houses.

The Numbat. It's probably more unknown than unpopular. It's one of the few animals that is actually breed in a Zoo (Perth) to be released in the wild. Besides, it's cute and planet zoo needs more medium-small mammals

Any of the other three subspecies of hyena. I’ve seen each requested from time to time on here. The striped hyena gained a little bit of popularity after being part of zt2. I’d take any of three remaining subspecies.

Also, and this is the most unpopular request ever, I'd like to have the Eurasian brown bear (as long as it doesn't take the place of another animal, just as an extra).

For me it's the Sumatran tiger. It's never highly requested because we already have two kinds of the mainland tiger in the game, but it's an animal I absolutely love that is extremely important to conservation.

Maned Wolf, I guess. A skunk. And I second the Watusi. It's hard to tell what people really don't want or request often
But if we turn the question around: The one highly requested animal I absolutely don't care about having in game would be easy to answer for me.

Meerkats have been requested so often in such a "how could they leave them out?!?!?!?!" manner that I don't care about them anymore in game. Like them IRL though

I don't see a lot of people asking for the Coyote, but I definitely want them in the game. Another, I don't know if it's "rarely" ask for, but I don't see it as often as other African animals, but the Crested Porcupine is not on a lot of wish lists. though it's probably still popular enough to not qualify for the thread.

I second the kiwi, bat-eared fox, and hyenas (especially the aardwolf).

I really want more amphibians in general, all we have right now are a whole bunch of frogs. I would love a Japanese or Chinese giant salamander if we end up getting bigger exhibits. Other than that guinea fowl, crowned cranes and maybe some sort of Asian antelope or two would be great. I would say maned wolf as well, but I've been pleasantly surprised by how seemingly popular they are, although I might just be imagining it because they stick out to me whenever they're mentioned.

ohhh thanks for reminding me! Haha porcupines were on my list too, particularly the Brazilian prehensile-tailed porcupine. They're so cute and funny<3

coyotes would be great for a wildlife rescue idea I had... I doubt we'll ever have enough woodland animals to make it possible, but I always thought it would be fun to make a "rehab center" sort of institution. Like the one near my neighborhood, with black bears, raccoons, deer, coyotes, bobcats, possums and such. (I live in Canada.) They open it to the public once a year, and it was cool seeing the temporary homes they built for the animals. Would love to build something like that...

An animal that I haven't seen mentioned too often (too my absolute surprise) is the Wolverine. Other than an otter, they're my most wanted mustelid.

Well, if we learn nothing else from this thread, it's that there is literally no end to the amount of content Frontier could add to the game if they wanted to. Realistically they could probably keep pumping out DLC for ten years and we'd still keep on buying it.

I'd second this one but mostly because I'm naming my franchise zoos with 'Just So' story titles and at the moment I have 'The Cat that Walked by Himself', 'Old Man Kangeroo' and 'The Beginning of the Armadillos' but with no armadillos to fill it with!

Actually just monkeys in general. Apes are well covered (we need gibbons of course), lemurs I would like to see more of, but 2 species feels fair.
But monkeys really lack diversity in the game, 3 species doesn't cover it.
Occasionally I see people request smaller South American species as well as baboons and barbary macaques, but beside from that people doesn't seem to care about them.

It almost seem like a big part of the community just doesn't like primates.

Monkeys are important zoo animals. They are very entertaining and active animals to watch. Their enclosures are often easy to fit in between larger habitats. They bring life above ground level, and many species work well in tropical domes and similar.
