What are Broker Network, Tuning, and Auto-Dock?

Some stations have Broker Network, Tuning, and Auto-Dock in their facilities list (see screenshot). What are they?

I thought Broker Network might be the Passenger Lounge since I never see it in the list. But many stations have Passenger Lounge available but don't say Broker Network in the facilities list.

Broker network I assumed was the 'shady contacts'. Is that system low security? I've seen both but always forgot to cross reference them.

Yeah it's low sec. Others I see Broker Network in appear to be low sec as well (plus Federation). What's "shady contacts"? I'm at one now and I don't see anything different than any other station.

Under contacts, where you hand in bounties/bonds and pay fines, there should be another option. It's where you can redeem the bounties or pay fines from other systems for a price.

Don't know about tuning but in the original design intent not all stations have a Docking Computer control facility, sort of like some airports don't have autopilot guidance facilities. So it looks like soon some stations will require manual docking, I'm looking forward to the moaning when that drops.

The auto-dock feature intrigues me. Since we have hand flight control announcers, some of the things they say make me believe the whole docking computer situation is a 2 way thing between your ship and the station.

Maybe in the future some facilities will be lacking auto-dock or can suffer malfunctions? I don't really see the point though, other than to annoy some. Only to be told to learn to fly by others..

Only guessing.

Landed on a station with a Broker just the other day.

Spent 600,000cr on fines and bounties from over a year ago to clear them all.
Also gave me 3Mil Cr in bounties from all over space. He kept 20%.

Expensive but worth it.

Apparently Auto dock and tuning shouldn't be there, tuning is just outfitting. They will probably get turn off again when they notice and get around to it.

They're not new, but relics. Auto-docking just describes whether docking computer would work at a station, not really needed now. Tuning has turned into Outfitting and Engineer upgrades.

Ok cool, thanks. I don't see it so maybe it only appears if I have a bounty/fine to deal with?

Ah! Code droppings... :D

Tuning and Auto-Dock are just legacy placeholder features exposed in 2.2 that have been in the game since it's inception, intended for the docking computer to only work in stations supporting it (which was never implemented and likely never will be) and tuning was an intended feature that was replaced with engineers. A dev cleared this up somewhere on the forums.

I don't get it, why ppl just.. don't try it out and see what it does?

Shady contacts - you can get all your bounties from whole bouble for a small fee.
Tuning - should be easy, dontcha think? Like visually tuning your ride irl (spoilers, rims, paint job and stuff)
Auto dock - thingie for docking computer? Doubt it's somehow useful right now. Guess FD forgot to remove that placeholder.

You'll still see it even if you have no jobs for them to do, although the Contact will, in the intro screen, make some smarmy remark about making sure you actually need their services next time.

It's in Contacts, the same place you go to pay fines, collect bounties, cash in combat bonds and find the black market contact. I think it's called the "Interstellar Factor" or some such?

Cool. Thanks! Ive paid some fines but havent noticed bounties. Will check again, there should be some cash for me.

I checked, but it wasn't there. The only thing I saw in contacts that I hadn't seen before was something called Trade Dividends, which I gather is for wing-related payments.

Maybe I can go rub someone's ship to get a small fine, and then go to one of these systems with the Broker Network to see if it shows up then.

I'm surprised you couldn't see it, it shows legacy fines held too, so unless you have kept your nose clean or have been very tidy.

I didn't directly say it, but did imply it but they are at low sec systems only. But i'm guessing you got that.
