What are the plans for dead, underused, and under-developed content?

Let's list them out in no particular order:

  • PowerPlay
  • CQC
  • Multicrew
  • Wing Missions - Most people solo them because there is no viable way to get reputable crew. It requires people to have friends in a game that promotes the CMDR as the loner making his/her way by themselves.

Hmmm... I'm having a senior moment at the moment, but I'm sure there are more. lol

Underused content are:

  • Wings (at least this one is useful sometimes)
  • SLF - Are we ever going to be able to do anything else with our crew?
  • Rover (What happened to all these different rover types we were supposed to get?)

Is it me, or do all these added value features feel like somebody's weekend hobby they came up with on the spur of the moment, then left unfinished when they lost interest?

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of all the content being added, then left to die out.

I agree with the first 4 - I can't remember the last time I played CQC or did powerplay (I prefer the far more casual BGS), but the SLF is fun*, and the SRV too - I've spent many an hour tooling around in the SRV, base raiding, material collecting, geyser jumping - and to be honest apart from better thrusters ;) and a stronger hull(? I can't think what to call it) I'm not sure more varieties would add much.

*Although admittedly I haven't used it for a while - only my keelback has an SLF slot.. The keelback is alright, but a bit meh & I don't really like the FGS (or the bigger ships). If the iClipper had an SLF slot, that'd be awesome... but er yeah OT.

Or the Python, eh, eh? :-D

But they won't improve said feature unless we use it...

[weird]

And we can't use it till they improve it.

How do we know which content is underused.
The Rover (you mean the Scarab, right?) sure is not.

One can only guess it´s PP, CQC and Multicrew.
PP is healable with some effort ... and might become a real good thing.
Multicrew maybe (?)
CQC is dead I guess unless they allow tournaments with all ship classes or so for the PVP-cmdrs. They could also include fights over a planetside.

I think they should replace SRV with SLB _ Ship Launched Buggy which is telepresence controlled modular ground based vehicles. Would allow Multicrew to swap into them, possibly have 2 launched at a time. maybe different models so you could fill up the 2 slot SRV module with 2 different types and also have them as "prinatble" like teh fighters so you can have 8 per slot like the SLFs.

that would make Multicrew work probably work on planets, NPC crew would work on planets and give players options for different SLBs!

CQC I could also see becoming a really useful thing to actually have in the game properly. Make it so that there are several CQC hotspots spread around the bubble, each one corresponding to one of the actual CQC maps, and allow players to visit them and sign up for matches. These matches would then work either through the normal mission system, or they could actually be a special contact just for CQC signups. The system could even be expanded so that factions will pay for pilots to head off for CQC matches around the bubble to represent their factions, much like how countries send sports and athletics teams off to international events - CQC is meant to be the ultimate sport of Elite's galaxy, and yet there's pretty much no mention of it anywhere.

And add bots to CQC. Good ones, to the point where they give the best players a run for their money. If they are good enough that a CQC match with only a couple of players is still challenging and fun, then they are getting there.

CQC would benefit by making it financially viable and comparable to the other Elite ranks. If players could earn decent money they would play it. The other tweak would be to introduce a new ranking for all players that is based on assets but with a scale factor based on your rankings in the 4 disciplines combined.

CQC should be part of the persistent universe. not some additional feature.

We should be able to dock at specific stations to either watch or participate in such brawls and get rep or money out of it. Even betting on the winner should be a thing, I mean, we have drugs, why no gambling? (RNG doesn't count...)
