What are these strange star formations?

Apologies if it has been already discussed, but what are those strange looking star formation - some are in a straight line, usually having name like massXXXXXX

Are those a real life astronomic object or something Frontier is planning for us? Or this is merely some game mechanics thing -like mass balancing?
