LostWinds What are you looking forward to most?

With the announcement of the new LostWinds title, Winter of the Melodias, what are you most looking forward to in this game?

Over the next few weeks you'll see more of the thriving landscapes, new powers and various gameplay and story elements, but for now what feature are you most looking forward to digging into? Perhaps it's experimenting with new powers, or engaging a whole new story. Let us know.

Story

LostWinds was such a refreshing game to play. I guess I am most excited just to continue the story and see where it takes us this time.

Can't wait for more news about Winter of the Melodias :)

The system who allows alternating between winter and summer is a great idea.

I would like many optional quest, with the NPCs who give missions for win bonus or item ...

But with the limits of the WiiWare, I think his will not be possible ^ ^ :(

In terms of gameplay I saw on the artworks of the first game much good stuff, I hope they will be in the second opus. ;)

Again, sorry if I have a bad english ^^

There was so much I liked about the first game that I'm looking forward to seeing again in the sequel. For example, the totally beautiful environments and all their neat little touches like interactive backgrounds. And of course the new abilities. The swimming looks like it'll be interesting. I'm guessing we'll be able to make whirlpools? It'd be fun watching all the little fish get sucked into a spinning vortex of water. Ooh, and the Glorbs with their hilarious screams when you throw them around. I can't wait to see what new creatures there will be to mess with.

I'm also curious about what's up with Toku's mother. That should be interesting.

I am looking forward to another "timeless" game, where there is no clock to inform me how long it's taken me, nor how much remaining time I have to beat the game (or rescue my mother). LW (the original LostWinds) was wonderfully relaxing since we didn't have any on-screen reminders about how long it's taken us so far to play.

I am looking forward to the story continuation. While the first game got me from learning who Toku was, to understanding that I must restore the power of Wind, to "saving" the end boss, I like that LW:WotM will give me a quest to save my mother (and any other elements that were described in the backstory of the first LW).

LW let us use wind and fire, and to a minimal extent, earth (rocks/boulders). LW:WotM appears to now allow us to use water (swimming) and ice (changing the elemental state of water). This looks exciting.

Will we be able to combine these elementals like we did with wind and fire? For example, you must plant a seed which is too far out of reach to use Vortex+water, so instead, you throw snowballs at the "planting site" and melt the snow with fire to get the water needed for the seed to grow.

I also saw in the teaser trailer that you can throw a rock onto the frozen lake and get it "stuck" on the water's surface. Will we need to roll boulders across frozen lake tops (or other items) in order to solve puzzles or get to "normally inaccessible" areas?

Lastly, just to reiterate previous threads about replayability. I would love to see some game elements that aren't required to beat the game, but that are optional so players can choose to return and collect them after the game has been beaten.

There will be many new and interactive puzzles in Winter of the Melodias :) You're able to see a few of them in the latest gameplay trailer we released on the LostWinds website (looks very nice!), though look out for more gameplay and information over the coming weeks which goes into further detail about the sorts of puzzles you'll face.
