Proposal Discussion What are your Joystick settings?

With regards to the Thrustmaster Hotas X and th coolie hat.... I know you can set up a shift function on the Hotas X, but I am wondering if the coolie hat can be used with shift?

For example, I quite like the idea of using that hat for up\down\left\right thrusters, but if its possible to combine with SHIFT I also like the idea of being able to use it to look around the cockpit?

Anyone know if this is possible?

I have an X52 and settings are not finalised, I'm waiting for release so I know everything I set will be permanent.

I have VA as well, not using it until I know exactly what needs to be on it.

That would be an idea. But is it handy? You are trailing a foe and as you jerk the stick around u have such motor skills that you can independently control the hat?

My settings are standard. All I changed was the rocking button. I forgot to set the thing to the green light, so it operates independently rather than copy the twisting of the stick. I use that motion to strafe. And the rocking button as the elevator :)

I find it hard to get the enemy in sight. Wonder if that is the settings, the dead zone...thingie...whatever?

Probably not no. I'm not the most co-ordinated person at the best of times, let alone during an intense dogfight. I will just have to try various configurations and see what fits best. But I like the idea of thrusting with the hat which could allow for fine tuning of movement.

I use a Logitech 3D pro stick with the hat set to power distribution and the top buttons for targeting and 100/50% speed
The keys on the base are used for non combat functions as my left hand is using my Razer Tartarus.
The Tartarus is set up for thrusters/boost and defence systems along with a few other misc functions/macro's
