What are your plans with terrain?

So. Alpha 2 soon and the terrain tool.
Just wanted some inspiration from all of you.. What do you have in mind when it comes to terrain?
Islands, mountains, caves, mount rushmoore-stuff?
I'd like to hear some ideas so we can all make the most awesome stuff next week! :D

My time will be spent recreating Uber famous video game scenes like arathi basin, battle for gilneas. Maybe do some lotr shire.

I will just be looking at the scenery around the world and want to have a go at recreating those areas however I am holding off the game until water is implemented tbh. I will have a play with the terrain and coasters but I brought the Alpha more to support Frontier than to really play the game at this stage tbh.

Adam

This not my idea but I'll assume that a lot of non-adult non-forum goers will 'play with the human body' if you know what I mean. [mouth shut]

I think I'll just fiddle with the terrain a lot. I'd like to build a coaster that looks like it's bouncing off of mountainwalls.

I wonder very much what types of paint we will have. I will use it to create certain "themes"

Grass for Generic (confirmed)
Sand for Western (confirmed)
etc etc

But in one of the streams i also saw some "white" stuff? was it supposed to be ice or snow?
I wonder what types we will get so we can make as many themes as possible.

Good call ..

Mount Doom, The Crack of Doom ,The Misty Mountain & Moria awaits!

Totally. Who would have thought it would be a coaster game that will let us recreate thorin's hall.[wacky][wacky].

We just need the ugc import function or the ability to copy and paste terrain sections.

I have zero talent with sculpture so for me it will just be various interesting landscapes and caves.

I will probably play with it to thinly wrap a building for a dark ride. Most likely just a small section and not the whole ride unil track rides are introduced.

I want to recreate Tom, Bert and William from the hobbit books [cool]

That is something I want to have a go at.

Also if you can raise the terrain the same height as the stone roof edgings we currently have in game you could potentially then place a path and the stone edgings tight together and make it look like the pathway/kerb. Then place the other road at the lower level. I think this might be the solution to making main street work better. It means you would have to have intersections of path so people move from one to other but got to be worth trying.

I can't remember which thread I posted in, but something I really want to try is those Super Mario World / SMBU jaggedy mountains.

And that would look fine as that's how wheelchair ramps work.

Hopefully, it may be that not many people use the centre of mainstreet though as no reason other than to cross from side to side so strategic shop/toilet placement may be needed. But got to be worth a go.

Hopefully in the end what they may offer is smaller increments of raising the paths also as at moment there is only 2 or 3 heights you can set them too. Having more snapping points for slopes and stairs would be good. Would also love if the stairs was a toggle button but that is way off topic. Sorry OP

I want to update the magic lamp ride I have, creating a cave of wonders around it!!
And I'll try to recreate a wild west mine for a launch coaster. Something Big Thunder Mountain style.[happy]

Not to worried if we do not get water yet, I will still make lakes, rivers, tunnels, hills ect for my park. I can keep using the blue roof tile for water if I need to

I am going to make 1 ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ of a cave system with big plateaus in it to completely envelop a coaster, fully underground coaster with cool lighting. Have not been busy with theming yet because I wanted to do it together with the terrain tools, if my idea works out, this should become very nice looking.

I was thinking large "Lagoon" with a giant Whale or Shark statue/cave in the middle for the coasters to go though... (I was thinking Whale as the cars can go in the mouth and out the Blow Hole....)

Perhaps someone could even make this:

^this. Definitely this. This is going to happen...and not just the 'non-adult non-forum goers'.
tbh at the moment I cant think of anything funnier than a giant stone one with a coaster wrapped around it. And maybe a fountain [where is it]

Aye those particle effects are a little small unless you place hundreds of them but the principle is there. Can also have the other end with fire coming out after a curry.

Not my sort of thing to do but am sure others will
