What Aspect of Elite: Dangerous Would You Most Like To See?

It's been such a long time since First Encounters. While we've had the awesome ships of the various remakes to admire, I have often wondered what ship designs Frontier would come up with for Elite IV.

Most definitely the vastness of space. This is what all the Elite games excelled at. Your a very small fish in a massive galaxy :cool:
 
Hard to pick just one but I've gone for combat. It's a pretty integral thing to the game, and I think the harder thing to 'get right' when compared with the economy....

Combat has to 'feel' right whereas the economy just has to get its maths right.... and a feeling is harder to nail down than a series of equations.

Fingers crossed for original elite but with inertia (think the space combat scenes from the Battlestar Galatica reboot from TV a few years back, where its done at normal speed but its still possible to flip around and face different directions to which you're moving, etc).

I'm also wondering if its time to abandon realism on lasers to introduce the challenge of leading your target, rather than just getting it 'in' your crosshairs. On Frontier, I got the knack of hitting stuff at some pretty extreme distances and never having to risk an actual fight.

I would have to vote for stars and planets because I am hoping that this game will feature some striking astronomical objects with which to interact and land on - especially interested in what the planetary starports will look like.

But I am also very interested in the combat (hopefully still beam lasers but more dogfighting/twisting/turning style), the ships (walking around them, fixing them up, etc) and the space travel generally, although I would much prefer speeded up travel to hyperspace jumping everywhere, but as long as space feels 'big' it doesnt really matter.

I am least interested in the space-ports and the trading because you get those in every space game going these days.
 
I wanna see orbital cities that really do look like cities :cool:

More variation in the bases - but again these could be modular and procedural to take the work out of the designing them.

All star bases would need at least one docking bay, and just add more different modules based on how rich it is, how busy it is, whether its primarily military, trading, scientific or whatever else.

Ground bases would again need a docking bay - covered or uncovered depending on the presence of an atmosphere perhaps, number of available bays depending on how busy the station is, and any other visual add ons to represent agriculture, industry, tech level, faction, role, etc.

A few basic designs with an assortment of configurations could lead to 100's of different types to see. It would be nice to see that a world described as being agricultural actually LOOKED agricultural when you arrived at it.
 
Too many options but I will vote for ships.
Ooops just spotted the user interface one now that some thing I would like to see.

I was stuck between so many options. I chose UI because that controls it all and with a UI demo you would see the star maps, how the ship looks and equipment etc :D

Stars and planets for me. I mean combat is important but really for me it is more about trading and exploring a hopefully interesting galaxy full of different planets.
 
I wonder about your pool becasue nothing of that is of any interest or relevance to me.
NPC's and Life maybe?
-> Real 3D models with bodies and faces and voice and character .."life" like it exists in today modern games.
Are you aware that we play a database?
If there were no oculus rift and the excelent done space flight immersion I wouldn't play this game because it's game content whise not a game of this centaury.
The power faces is a start but really one single pic of each is just not enough.
