Not being familiar with WSR I may not be one to answer, but two things I really like about voice attack are its ability to to chain commands/make macros and provide audible feedback.
For example, in Voice Attack, if you want you can create a command called "Request Docking" and program it with the keyboard commands to open the left panel, shift the menu twice to the right, select, shift down to request docking clearance, and select again. That way, all you have to do is say "request docking" without having to fumble for the menus. Similarly, you can chain commands for whatever configuration you like for your ship. Again for docking you could make one that puts all power to shields, lowers your landing gear and cuts throttle to half. VA is also configurable enough to mimic mouse input.
The other thing I really like is that VA can provide feedback after executing a command, by playing a sound file or using text to speech. People have put together sound packs, some of them very nice, using sound effects from TV and movies. Personally, I like the TTS option because you can tailor a voice response to each command.
I say "All stop," and the computer says "Answering all stop" as it executes the command. I say "cargo scoop" and the computer says "cargo scoop" to let me know it heard me. I say "power to weapons" and it replies "Power to weapons" audibly, which means I don't have to take my eyes off the target to know it happened. It's not just practical, it's also more immersive. I even programmed in simple greetings and replies...
Since I started using voice commands, I have a habit of saying "Thank you," so I programmed it to say "You're welcome." Also, to make sure the mic is functioning after VA launches, I have programmed in greetings, so I start off by saying "Hello" or "Good evening," it replies with "Hello, Commander," to let me know its listening.
Again I don't know if WSR can do these things, but that's what I like about Voice Attack. Of course, it has a free demo so probably the best thing to do is download it and try for yourself.
