Newcomer / Intro What criminal hunting missions are good for starters

I'm looking right now to start building up heavy cash with some hunting, there are a few 100k reward missions on boards for hunting certain people, but I'm worried that a sidewinder/eagle with pulse lasers won't be enough to take them down. What kind of threat/ship are these guys, also if I get taken down, does a restart allow me to pick up the Mercenary Edition free Eagle ship again? Thanks!

Anyone? Little nervous about taking big hunting missions I'm in an eagle with 2 pulse lasers and a burst laser.

I would start with the 10-16k kill missions for pirates, As you not only get the reward for mission completion, you also pick up the bounty rewards which can turn into a very nice paycheck.

the 100k+ ones, I tried one in the sidewinder, it hurt! XD Save those for when your ship is bigger and badass!

Thanks! What about my eagle, if I restart my save or if I'm blown up, what happens?

If you're in your starter sidewinder you might be better bounty hunting than doing kill missions; the payoffs are very good and you don't have to worry about finding the correct target.

If you die you have to pay an insurance fee to get your ship back. My guide here covers starter missions, bounty hunting and insurance amongst other things.

A quick suggestion, fit a gimballed multi-cannon on your bigger slot on the Eagle and keep pulse lasers on the other two; you can use the lasers to take down someone's shields and then the multis and lasers together to finish them off - very effective.
