What did you do one year ago in Elite?

Time for another very important question... What were you doing this time last year in Elite?

I was heading out towards Planet Wilson to try and participate in the rescue of Bomba Luigi after he had gotten himself stuck on the planet and down a hole - Bomba does not do things by half!

What about you? Can you recall what you did one year ago today?

Pretty much the exact thing I am doing now. Except at a slightly lower rank.
Maybe the only difference is that I am looking for Engineering materials a little more readily.

IIRC, I was cheerily zipping across the surface of worlds in my SRV, one eye on the ground, the other on my wave Scanner, gathering data for the material data survey project. It was the first time the game had provided the type of exploration game mechanics that I enjoy. Dozens of Commanders cooperating in an effort to figure out how materials were distributed in the Elite galaxy.

Then Frontier went and destroyed it by allowing the detailed surface scanner to reveal this data without ever having to land on a world.

Rough guesstimate that rngeers was out and I set forth into the black to explore...after being repeatedly ganked by kids trying out all the new toys frontier gave them. Three times in one hour once...it was either start exploring or give up entirely sorta crossroads decision at the time ^

This time last year, my Rift had just arrived. I was taking my first shaky steps into VR, while piloting Starchild back from Sagittarius A*.

I was far, far out in the black, enjoying the sights.
