Horizons What do I do?

I played quite a bit early in the piece and ranking seemed a lot different then. I recently got my CV1 and have been getting back into Horizons. Anyway Ive been flying around pretty aimlessly and want to further my rank so I can look to purchase that Federal Corvette. Currenlty I am a post captain but my rank hasn't gone up at all in a week from 45%.

I'm aligned to Federation - Zachery Hudson.

What do I do now?

Do missions. But be sure you only do missions for factions that are aligned with the Federation. (You'll see a Fed logo next to the name of the faction)

You can try. But don't be disappointed if it doesn't work out. The mission boards change all the time according to changing states of the factions. And if you go somewhere where lots of people grind missions, you'd be surprised how quickly a place can change.

I did it by looking for Civil War Conflicts in my Python, then building Rep with one of the factions at war and stacking Contracts to kill the opposing sides ships in Conflict Zones. I can kill NPC's at the rate of about 30 an hour if I put my head down. My best day so far, yesterday I made around 250m. Normally around 100m because you first have to build up the rep to ally and the next day the war is over. I reckon if I had a buddy and we didn't kill each other and picked opposing sides and just killed npc's we could keep a civil war going for at least 3 or 4 days and make a lot more money. alas, in the 2 weeks I been playing in open play I've seen one or 2 other players only. Anyway Ive bought my Corvette but after playing around in the loadout screen I reckon the Python properly configured is probably more dangerous. So now I've got 500+m in the bank and I'm wondering what I wil spend it on haha. TBH my Anaconda with better jump range looks like a better ship to upgrade fully and wont cost nearly as much.

Yeah nice, what an coincident that combat don't work for ranking :rolleyes:[weird]
Only the missions give reputation....

Edit i'm not talking about minor-factions. I talk about the superpowers and their ranking

That's right. And one of the best missions to rank up are the "Kill x of those" conflict zone contracts. Which is exactly what OP did. These missions also pay extremely well, on top of everything that you earn by killing itself. ;)
