As for any EVE linkage to Mostly Harmless putting me off, that wouldn't be so, they were our friends and allies ^^

EVE itself does put me off. Developers catering to meta gaming, scamming and attery are not my cup of tea. Aside from that, a lot of things were pretty lame in EVE from the get go, but over the years, as the economic component ballooned and the space traveling part got stale, only the UI keeps improving. I now say this about EVE:
Award for the most awesome User Interface for the world's most useless software.
